An outstanding surprise in a time where there are few experiences like this!
Chez Trassoudaine is an easy 5 stars on all aspects. From the moment you enter, you feel at home by the atmosphere and the staff’s welcome. The decoration feels like you’re parents (or grand parents house) in the middle of Paris.
Menu is quite intimidating with all the options but we started with the terrine d’oie which was an outstanding new terrine to try and a great introduction to what was coming up after.
Now what came after was the real chef-d’œuvre: six entrecôtes cooked in six different styles…absolutely incredible. Indulging in the six different styles one next to the other really makes it easy to compare the different arômes. The Blackpearl was out tables favorite. We just took one side of potatoes (also incredible) and it was enough for our table of 6 in order to give the meat the respect it deserves.
Wine concept is very nice, your drink and pay as you go from the bottle you take. Desert are homemade and were also delicious.
What really was the cherry on top at Trassoudaine, was the care of the owner and the chef who were constantly checking on the table with a smile and an easy going joke.
Trassoudaine is definitely one of Paris best kept secrets, so good that I feel like I should not share it. Will definitely...
Read moreYes!! I don't review places much, but this place is a gem! The friendliest and coziest of atmospheres paired with incredibly cooked food(main focus: meat=entrecote, chateaubriand). And it is cooked to perfection. Portions are big and from the cheapest to the most expensive cuts everything was epic! I got an expensive cut of entrecote and my girlfriend a sauced chateaubriand. And yes they were both incredible. Attention to detail, great ingredients, epic polite attentive service. A family business at its peak, that truly shines. We left with a warm feeling of pure satisfaction both from the food and the wonderful people running this amazing restaurant. I would travel from the edges of Paris to come to this place and I would leave with the same feeling. Bravo! You made our day and our long weekend in Paris. This was hands down the best food we ate here(100 times better than Saint Germain du Prés restaurants). This is a place where locals come to eat and for good reason. If you want an authentic experience full of flavour for your belly and soul, this is the place to come to. I could keep writing positive things but I think you just need to visit yourself... To the wonderful brothers and their amazing team I want to say thank you! I feel proud to have experienced what you so...
Read moreSuperb last supper in Paris! I was a little worried having not really dined alone at a high-caliber restaurant before, but the restaurant owner and his family were so welcoming when I stopped by late at night. It was quiet that Monday night, but I enjoyed the intimacy of the meal. I got the scallops, which were seasoned and slightly seared on one side, but the seasoning is what made the scallops--the rich, oily sauce magically worked with both the scallops and the rice. The rice on the side also was splendid: the texture wasn't too al dente nor too fluffy either. The standard of service is what stood out to me: the whole family who ran the restaurant was so welcoming, and the owner, Igo, offered me a glass of wine on the house at the beginning of the meal. At the end of the meal, he also brought out a mint chocolate which felt both refreshing and sweet. This was the quintessentially Parisian dining experience that I cannot recommend...
