Our good friend Matthis invited us to try Ischia par Denny Imbroisi. I wasn’t excited at first because my wife and I really come to France for French cuisine. This was an upscale, intimate Italian experience that blew us away.
Located in the 15th arrondissement of Paris, an area I had never been to before, was this quaint looking restaurant with a tiny sign indicating we were at the right place.
We were warmly greeted by staff when we entered. Our server Momen was very kind and made some great recommendations!
We were treated to meeting the chef himself. He was down to earth, and clearly passionate about his craft and his dishes speak volume to his talent.
To start we had ordered the most outer worldly cocktail I think I’ve ever seen. Lighting and smoke effects made it feel like a sci-fi experience. This was the magnificent Maronti Sunset Cocktail.
We opted to try multiple dishes and share everything to get a better sense of the talent of and range of chef Denny.
To start we got the Roman-style fried artichoke. This was a delicious combination of flavours and textures 5/5
Next up we got the Pizza Tartufo Nero which was also incredible and packed with flavour. Our favourite part was when our server Momen made it rain with black truffle everywhere. Also 5/5
The sea bass carpaccio was good but we’ve had some really great ones to compare it to. I would give it a 4/5 and would definitely try it again.
The veal Milanese was a very generous portion. The texture was nice and crunchy. Very enjoyable and great for sharing 4/5
The ravioli pasta with fresh black truffle was delicious. My only comment was that it might have been too al dente for my palette but overall was great 4/5
The beef ravioli was the star of the show. It was colourful, playful, flavourful. Excellent presentation for an outstanding dish. 5/5
The tart with ice cream was a nice way to end the meal on a sweet note.
All in all, between the ambience, the service, the cocktails and food I would rate them a 5/5.
This will be on my list that I share with people visiting France for sure.
Looking forward to trying all the restaurants run by Denny Imbroisi on our upcoming...
Read moreThe highlight of the meal was the lovely round table we had on the terrace.
For starters, we shared: • Margherita pizzette: 7/10 • Regina pizzette: 8/10 I personally love thin crusts. • Burrata with gaspacho: 7/10 I expected better
For the mains, I had the truffle pasta (8/10) perfectly cooked, and I really liked the specific pasta shape they used that day.
My friends ordered: • The côtelette (near of the day): 6/10 – it was bony with not enough meat • The lemon pasta (also a daily special): 8/10 it accidentally arrived late as it was forgotten, but the staff kindly offered it on the house • The saffron ravioli: 7/10 flavorful, but perhaps a bit too much going on. I wouldn’t order it for myself
We ended the meal by sharing a tiramisu, I don’t remember if my friends liked it as I skipped dessert.
Overall, a good experience, and I’d definitely give it...
Read moreI used to go to Cyril Lignac's restaurant here, so I was happy to try this one with the new chef. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The waiter kept saying he was tired and made mistakes like bringing a bottle of water instead of a carafe. They also brought the appetizer at the same time as the main course, so they had to take the main back. Overall, the food was just okay and far from memorable and delicate like it was before. The chef was walking in and out of the restaurant; I'm not sure why. I would have preferred he stayed in the kitchen making...
