I ate here for lunch based on the strong reviews, including some hyperbolic statements like “the best pizza outside of Italy”. I would temper some of that exuberance while still providing a strong endorsement.
This restaurant has a basic decor and a casual atmosphere. It is located close to a main train station, making it an easy side adventure for travelers.
I had the Margherita pizza, salmon pasta, and pistachio crème brûlée. All three dishes were good, but not unforgettable. The flavors were safe and the quality of the ingredients were good.
The pizza had a good dough, sauce, and cheese - but pizza in Italy is on another level in all three aspects. Still very good.
The salmon pasta was creamy with a good pasta. The dish was under-seasoned but salt and Parmesan cheese was provided. The dish could have gone without the cold smoked salmon placed on top and stuck with the cooked salmon.
The crème brûlée had a great pistachio flavor although it tasted previously made. Normally you would make the hard shell (via torch) on demand when the customer orders. This led to an overly cold dish.
In summary - a very solid option for good Italian with warm service and a casual...
Read moreHad a family evening meal yesterday evening Easter Sunday. We arrive 15mins before opening, and we were greeted by Esteban, who kindly invited us in and allowed us to have a drink before opening. Very nice touch given we had young children. Immediately warmed us to this place. Menu was lovely! Really good choices and specials were fantastic!! Also very helpful with accommodating kids alterations to menu!! And offered kids sizes for all on menu, such a nice touch, and made kids feel very welcomed. Great bottle of wine recommended by Esteban. Food was to die for, it was that good! We had chicken risotto with truffle cream, tagelatelle with pesto, bacon and garganzola, margaretta pizza(child) and tagelatelle with tomato sauce(child). 4 clean bowls. Profit to rolls and creme brulee (pistachio) for desert with salted caramel latte. Homemade food, delicious! And no one left hungry. We will be back tonight!! Totally recommend this restaurant for family, or romantic couple meal. Spotless, and nice calming decor. Honestly, the best dining experience we have had in years. 5 stars!!

Read moreWe did our homework and found this as a convenient place to have brunch during our 3 hour late morning stop over at Gare du Nord. The staff were really pleasant and helpful with finding extra space for the suitcases we were towing and didn't seem to mind us hanging around afterwards when we weren't in a rush to get back and wait at the station. We came as a party of 8 and they accommodated us straight away. Half of us went with the brunch menu and the other half with the Italian menu. The Pain Perdu (French toast, made with brioche) was a stand out winner for the brunch eaters, and the latte was good too. I so wish we had this restaurant closer to home - I love brunch and I am envious of Paris. (And you should definitely pay a visit to Les toilettes to see how a toilet cistern can be made into...
