I couldn't be further from giving this restaurant a bad review.
The scene is the corner of a relatively quiet street in the northern area of Paris, overlooking a crossroads with tables slightly out onto the pavement. The front of the restaurant is light and airy thanks to the full-length windows opened out - something that makes a big difference once you're stuffed to the brim with their food. You'll know what I mean when you go there!
Beers and wines available from the bar-like menu, and the food (which is what everyone really cares about) is just incredible - props to the chef who you wouldn't realise keeps those orders going all by himself. If you love your juicy burgers BIG and packed with flavour then eating at OBU is a must when in Paris, for sure.
The staff were incredibly friendly - speaking some English too so there was no struggle ordering what we wanted. We were served water and a salad appetiser for free, not to mention a few shots of Limoncello thanks to the lovely waitress who we managed to get on really well with (perhaps it was in lieu of helping her practice her English!).
All in all, A+ from us. We visited twice during our time in Paris and we'd absolutely...
Read moreWent here 08 Oct at about 20:00, the young blond haired lady was lovely and explained the menu to us and her demeanor changed our minds and we decided to eat here. The main reason to go in was it was a independent eatery and was quiet. The food came within 10 minutes. We both had burgers and both burgers were cooked as we had requested, the burgers also came with fresh fries. All the food was excellent, the fries were fresh, hot and tasty . The burger was the piece de resistance, fresh onions, fresh tomatoes and lettuce, the burger was fresh with no gristle, the bun was soft and fresh. Both of us really enjoyed the burger and fries, and the cost of the 2 burgers and fries was only 38 euros. To conclude fantastic burger, fantastic service at a fantastic price.Thank you for being so nice to us, really wish the...
Read moreI visited OBU for the first time in 2019 and had an amazing experience, friendly service and delicious food, so much so I returned again in the same week of my trip.
Fast forward to 2022 and I’ve returned to Paris to relive the experience. Unfortunately I’ve been left shocked by the decline of this restaurant. It has become a place where Deliveroo and Uber Eats orders are prioritised over customers sat inside the restaurant.
We were left waiting 45 mins after ordering for our order of two burgers and fries, only to be told that they didn’t put our order through and that they were no longer able to serve fries. They were still sure to charge us for the two beers we had while waiting and made no apologies about the situation beyond “Sorry, but we’re just busy with other orders”. Unacceptable and a complete waste...
