Visited this lively dinning place at the first night when we arrived in Paris. It was quite late after checking in at the hotel and we were starving to find something to eat. We looked around the maps and found this gem!
The atmosphere here was cozy and more like a family restaurant with around 5-8 tables; staffs were all very friendly and helpful to introduce the daily menu on a huge black board with hand writing.
We were impressed by the fish fillet and the pork with smash potatoes main dishes. The fish fillet was very tender and perfectly seasoned. I was not a carrot person however that carrot must be cooked with magic cause I couldn’t taste the unpleasant carrot flavor! Those vegetables nicely acted as delightful side dishes. As for the pork main dish, I would definitely recommend it as well as the potato side dish. Loved that dense texture and the almost creamy taste!
Desserts put a wonderful ending of the night and we all had a fantastic impression at the very first night. Couldn’t believe that they had only one staff back in the house but offered such a high quality of foods
The recommendation of white wine from the front staff was also a good match with the dishes! Do not miss the...
Read more(coffee-only review) You know how Starbucks often feels like a better version of your living-room? Same here. Le Borromée is like a cross between a Parisian café and Starbucks. It's well-situated on the Rue de Vaugirard, and the place is bright and airy.
I sat here for about three hours and talked with a friend, we had four or five expressos. The clientèle was local, service was efficient (it always is in a Parisian café), and the espressos were gotten at the standard price of around a euro and change. The barkeep was nice and the rest of the staff pleasant, until they noisily set up shop at the table next to ours, bantering and screaming like we did not exist, and then it got really, if temporarily, annoying since we couldn’t hear ourselves talk (that’s the French for you, customers—a very abstract concept for them— are an afterthought).
I’ll want to come back here for their breakfast or lunch. Very enjoyable place just to have...
Read moreWe discovered Le Borromée while looking for a restaurant close to our hotel and it turned out to be the best meal we had in Paris!
The menu is written on a chalkboard in French. Our friendly waiter kindly presented each dish in detail and even told us we could make other combinations if we wished. Service was impeccable and the food absolutely delicious.
We started with two divine entrées with mushrooms, one with champignons de Paris and the other with pleurotus. Then, we continued with a perfectly cooked bavette de boeuf which comes with incredible fries and a tender chicken breast (as an alternative to the sausage they had in the menu), with a side of super creamy mashed potatoes. For dessert we had the profiteroles, which were the best we’ve ever had in our lives.
Unfortunately, the following evening, which was also our last night in Paris, the restaurant was closed for a private event, otherwise we would have returned...
