Beautiful place which we sadly didn’t enjoy due to the lack of professionalism and arrogance of a staff member. The staff took ages to take our order: After 10 mins of waiting, even if we originally came in to say hi and ask if we can sit at terrace, a waitress came to us and ask what we wanted. I asked if we could see a drinks menu, as we had no idea what was on offer. She brought one menu and disappeared again, so we chose and waited. After a while one of us got up and went inside to order, as we really just wanted drinks and didn’t want to stay super long. Then the drinks came, but only 2 out of 3. The person who brought them mumbled something that we didn’t quite hear and left again. My drink was missing, I figured it might have been something about my drink coming right up, but again time went by and no drink. By the time my friends were almost done with theirs, I got up and went in again to enquire what happened. Staff was just chilling inside (mind you the place was almost empty), I politely asked if my drink is being made, they said they will ask the bartender. I said that if they haven’t started prepping it yet, they shouldn’t bother as my group was done and we wanted to go, but if they are already making it I will ofc have it. The first waitress then came outside and again, without being remotely apologetic, told me that the kombucha I ordered was ‘dans la cave’ and if I wanted something else instead?! I said no thanks we are leaving and shared my disappoitment about the lack of communication. She brushed it off saying ‘her colleague who took our order didn’t know’ and they have only just opened three days ago so it’s normal that things are not perfect. No apology about the wait and the fact that they didn’t simply bring anything to me, and just laughed to my face. I understand that you have only just opened, but please teach your staff some basic politeness. We thought the place looked lovely, but not very keen on...
Read moreThis restaurant is well located in the magnificent Buttes Chaumont Park. The decor is charming and something most people who love to be seen at a place will like.
The food is an experience with the serving directly on the table. The idea is excellent, but the execution could be better. The quality of the ingredients and the cuisine are generally tasty, and the dishes on the vegetarian-tasting menu are outstanding.
Unfortunately, the service is the Achilles heel of this operation. We arrived, and the place wasn't even packed for a sunny Friday evening in Paris. It took the servers 10 minutes or more to give us the menu and then another 10 minutes to take our orders. The lovely lady asked if we knew the restaurant's concept, and all I could think was, “You just opened less than a week ago. How could I know?”. The tasting menu is 37 euros burlt the night didn't specify it was per person, and for the quantity you are served its a bit excessive. If you look at the photos we paid 74 euros for just that. The tasting menu is served all at once with a bit of pageantry that I appreciated.
Since we were relatively close to the staff throughout the service, we kept hearing them bicker and share the stress of a running kitchen. It's hard to relax and enjoy the food if you can sense, hear, and see all this fumbling around. We saw some people wait for the same amount of time, so we weren't an isolated case.
In summary, I will recommend the food but don't expect excellent service, as they just opened and need to get their bearings and staff themselves better. I plan on returning for brunch to see if the service improves towards the end of the summer. I'm sure they will if they want to stay in business...
Read moreIf you want to get ripped off LITERALLY this is the place. Situated in the park, lovely villa with a nice terrace is a lure. Once inside, they roll parchment paper across the middle of the table and the menu concept is pre-set appetisers ( just some dips with grilled vegetables ) which they charge €37 per person. So for 3 of us was €110 for 9 grilled carrots 🥕 ( like we are rabbits 🐰) 3 dips, 1 slice of watermelon with few grapes on top and 2 slices of grilled eggplant with a spoonful of cooked grains on it ( do the math 😂 ). In addition to that we got tartare as the main meal which was meat mixed with arugula salad kind of thing ( it should not be called tartare ) and a €59 milanese that came as two small pieces of meat-which is a rip off again ( not classic Milanese - some altered version of it ). Drinks are also more on a whatever side. All in all…run away. It’s like a mermaid…pretty but you get slaughtered…they deserve to close. Service was super nice but those poor servers can’t do miracles if the owners are greedy. This is a tourist / instagram bs .Stay away from it or rather go to a Michelin for that price and eat properly, like a...
