We stumbled upon Les Fabricants after doing a thorough search of the Oberkampf area where our hotel was located. We read the numerous reviews of Les Fabricants and decided to give it a try for dinner. We arrived late evening and were immediately seated near the window. I ordered the large salad that was full of potatoes and meat toppings. My fiance ordered the veal, which was one of the largest plates I've ever seen. We also ordered a full pitcher of the red Sangria, which was tasty and perfectly mixed. My salad was excellent, as it had the right mixes and flavors. As everyone correctly states, the portions are incredibly large and you will never go hungry. But the best of our experience was the service. We spoke with the Owner, Fabon, who quickly identified us as Americans and engaged in a thoughtful, wide ranging conversation on France and America, life and more. He is a truly caring owner, who cares about his restaurant. We appreciated the hospitality and will make Les Fabricants a stop the next time we are in Paris.

Read moreWe got mixed emotions after dining at this place. On one hand, it was our decisions that led to outcomes we disliked. For example, we ordered the snails, that we didn't even finish, cause we simply didn't like them. We ordered a plate of potatoes, cause we didn't see that it already comes as s big portion with the duck steak I ordered. Moreover, we thought it was gonna be fries, but it turned out to be soft potato slices dipped in oil. We ordered a chocolate fondain, expecting that it was gonna be melted chocolate inside of it, but it was pretty much just a piece of chocolate cake. On the other hand, there were things that weren't on us. For example, the duck steak was barely warm when it arrived. The potato that I already mentioned, was not that good. Plus, I ordered ketchup with it, and it wasn't served, unfortunately. So, we kinda only liked wine and bread... The waiter and the administrator were super nice, though! Therefore, 4 stars. Can't give 5, cause we cannot say we enjoyed...
Read moreDo not pass up an opportunity to visit this magical place. We spent an evening feasting on some of THE ABSOLUTE BEST FOOD WE HAVE EVER EATEN with a nice bottle of wine in the company of one of the most welcoming and wonderful waiters we've had the pleasure to meet.
Our French skills are pitiful, but every person here was so kind. They sent over their English-speaking waiter with menus in English, and he took the time to walk us through all the house favorites.
The dishes we had were spectacular. We all wanted to try each others' meals, but you could tell that none of us wanted to give up a single bite of our own food. I hadn't eaten veal in over a decade, but my husband's Veal Montagnarde was to die for. The Duck in Roquefort sauce was also incredible; the creamy cheese sauce is something I still dream about.
Honestly, I could write a small book about how much we loved our food and experience here, but I'm starting to drool.
Do yourself a favor: have a meal at...
