01.11.2022 UPDATE: Over the past month, I've been contacted several times by the manager. He has repeatedly apologized for the incident and I received a full refund for this stay. He has also offered to host me again at his expense, if and when I am comfortable doing so.

12.11.2021 I would give this review zero stars if it were an option. Let me follow this by saying, up until the incident on Saturday, I was prepared to give this hotel raving reviews.

Check-in: I checked in on Thursday, December 9th. My temperature was checked along with the Green Pass as soon as I approached the front desk. The attendant was very polite and helpful. He checked me into the hotel and presented me with one card key. I asked him for a second key as my sister was joining me the next day and the room was reserved for two adults. He took a copy of my credit card and passport page. I was not too happy about this, given the worldwide issues with identify theft and attempts to use my credit card.

The rooms: Though small, were very nicely decorated and had everything you need for a quick/short stay in the city. Everything was clean and there were ample supplies of towels, lotion, soap, and toiletries. There were even complimentary (large) bottles of water and varied tea.

I slept well the first night. No issues with noise. My sister joined me on Friday December 10th. Coincidentally, this was our birthday. We had a great day and opted to dine at the restaurant at the hotel. The food was great and the waiter was very patient, attentive and professional.

We retired to our room after dinner and I was in a really good sleep until my sister shook me awake. She said someone was at the door. I jolted awake. I honestly thought the knocking I heard was in my sleep/dream. Sure enough someone was knocking on the door. It was 4:15a. Slightly disoriented, I asked who it was. There wasn't a peephole so I could not look out and I was not about to open the door. The person identified himself as Alex. I told him he had the wrong room. I was certain he had the wrong room as neither my sister nor I knew anyone in Paris and we did not order anything for delivery. We were not expecting anyone and certainly not at that hour of the morning!

Alex thought I was playing and again insisted I open the door. I again told him he had the wrong room. I asked him who he was looking for and he said Mar. I told him, wrong room, and if he did not leave, I would alert the front desk. This is when Alex said the guy at the front desk sent him to the room. I tried calling down to the front desk using the phone in the room and remember the phone was not working. No dial tone. I again told Alex he had the wrong room and I would call the police if he did not leave.

Using my cell phone, I called the front desk to let the attendant know we had someone at the door and did not know the person. The attendant said he sent them up to the room because he asked for me. I asked him what name he (Alex) gave, and he said "Mar". I told the attendant that was not my name. He said he knew but because my first name starts with "Mar" he thought it okay to send Alex to my room. I was furious!!!

The front desk attendant, who I later found out was Eudorick, didn't try to contact me on my cell phone (he had the number) before sending a complete stranger up to the room where it was just me and my sister. I am grateful he did not give him a room key. It would not have ended well for Alex or Eudorick. Not only did Eudorick violate my privacy, but he also put my life and that of my sister's at jeopardy. That was a huge safety breach and neither my sister nor I were willing to overlook it. We could not go back to sleep after that and did not feel safe or comfortable staying at that hotel.

I should note at this point, the room was paid in full (€436) and had been since 13 October 2021.

After ending the call with Eudorick, I immediately booked a room with Hilton La Defense. Since it was 5:00a, they were going to charge for two nights. Such an...

Incredibly disappointed in this hotel. The long and short of it is if you want to book, l suggest elsewhere. My fiancé and I booked a trip to Paris with the intention of celebrating our engagement. We arrived and once we checked into our room, recognized that there was only a bathtub, and no shower within the room. When we inquired if this is something that could be changed given my fiancé needs accessibility accommodations in order to wash himself that could not be afforded by a bathtub, we were told that we should have requested a shower directly and that there were no rooms available for that night for us to switch into that have a shower. We were also told that for the following three nights of our stay, if we were switched into a room with a shower that was of a lower category and price point, we would not be refunded for the difference in price because we should have been more responsible to request a shower. Now I want to be clear: my room booking listed a set of services that said “shower” as one of them. Beyond that, I think it is perfectly reasonable to expect that you room has a shower of some sort as opposed to assuming a room would have a bathtub solely as a means for washing yourself. We presented our booking confirmation that said we would have a shower and were told that 1) all of the services listed are not guaranteed and we should have known to read it as such since it is at their discretion if they offer it (for context: other services said things like the room had AC, had a television, had a hair dryer, had WiFi, all of which were present). We then were told that, prior to checkin, when presented with a form that asked if our preference for our room would be a higher floor, a ground terrace, or a bathroom with a tub, we selected higher floor, we should have intuited that that meant our room would have a bathtub (again, we did not choose the bathtub option but should have known that the higher rooms only have bathtubs). As you can imagine, this was quite an unfortunate situation. What made it worse is that the manager of the hotel (whose name I believe is Jason) and staff were quite combative and accusatory in their reasoning as to why we could neither be refunded appropriately nor accommodated more appropriately. I pride myself on being a reasonable hotel guest and really try to be understanding when miscommunications happen. However, in this situation I really do not believe we (my fiancé and I) operated with anything but the confirmation that we had that said we would have the accommodations we expected. Further, I do not believe that how the situation was handled was neither fair nor thoughtful. We were told we could be offered free breakfast as a solution when really we just wanted to be given back money for services that would not be rendered if we moved to this significantly smaller and cheaper room. The hotel manager was resolute that he should quote “not lose money” on this hotel stay, and that in this interaction, we should not be refunded. Sometimes it’s about the principle of behavior and It’s disappointing that this hotel couldn’t acknowledge that they might have just messed up with their listing and done the right thing to make amends on truly accommodating basic services. I imagine the manager (who never actually gave us the decency of a face to face cofnversation, even when requested, but instead chose to only talk via the front desk staff) could have been a lot more thoughtful but chose a different path. This has had to be some of the most mind boggling customer service I have ever seen. At risk of your trip being stressful, I would suggest other...

We've booked the hotel for 5 nights due to recommendation from friends to stay in Marais. It didn't disappoint. We requestet a quiet room in advance. Normally requests are more or less ignored. We arrived and they told us they have one of the most quiet rooms for us as requestet! We really appreciate that our request was fulfilled. Indeed the room was soooo quiet. If you are "on the road" from morning to evening a good sleep is necessary. The hotel is in a side street in a quiet neighbourhood.

The club room is small but you have all you need. Fridge, bed, closet, bathroom with hairdryer, safe, tv, phone... Everything was clean. We requested another blanked which we got.

All staff were super nice and helpful.

The only thing I PERSONALLY didn't like where the pillows. There are 2 pillows available. One larger and one smaller. Normally in hotels one of the pillows is harder and the other one softer so you can choose how you sleep at home. Unfortunately both pillows are hard. I had some issues to sleep one both of them. It would be better to have 2 different pillows. One hard and one soft as I think every guest has different preferences on that and you can choose what is good for you.

In any case if we return to paris we will stay there again and recommed it to our friends and family.

By the way we did a lot by walking and not using metro. You are at the Seine in 30 mins, at louve in 45 mins. If you wanna see at lot we...

A beautiful boutique hotel. It’s fairly new I believe under two years old therefore all of the interiors and amenities are very clean. It has a contemporary and Scandinavian minimalistic style, quite a fresh break from most of the European and classical designs of Parisian hotels. I enjoyed the overall monochromatic colour scheme as it adds a millennial feel to the hotel. There is a big courtyard in the middle of the hotel with a huge giraffe light installation. There’s also many little details and you’ll be finding giraffes everywhere around the hotel, which is quite cute. Cons: the AC is quite weak as it was either broken or just takes extremely long to work. We went in the end of April so it was still pretty cool out, however the room was very hot and stuffy, and the ax never seemed to cool down the room entirely. There’s a school right next door so it can get noisy and loud at times with all the screaming kids. Alike other boutique hotels, staffing is very limited during off hours. So if you need anything like a toothbrush or refills you’d had to get down to the lobby to get it yourself. Overall, it was a nice hotel location was a little off central but still easy to maneuver around. Great customer service and a pleasant stay.

We spent 4 nights here in January. The staff were wonderful especially Marie at breakfast time. She was so personable, friendly and her cheerful personality was a great start to the day. We stayed in the JR garden room it was so quiet and very clean. Plenty of nice café & restaurants near by also metro approx 100 yards away. Load up with metro tickets you can buy multiple tickets at the same time . The ticket machines have a language selection etc just roll the silver bar to select. Navigo tickets seems difficult to purchase and you do not get any discount so best just to buy individual tickets. The location was great for exploring Paris. We visited Notre Dame free tickets online at the Notre Dame official website 2-3 days before and are bookable just after midnight. Sainte Chapelle. Arc de Triomphe. Conciergerie. Le Louvre which is massive. Effle Tower at night for best atmosphere. museum D'Orsay look for the child Infront of the massive Painting. Do visit Montmarte it is such a beautiful place with cobble stone roads , plenty of shops and wonderful views. Use the furnicula to avoid all the steps. Overall a fantastic stay thank you to all the lovely staff at Les Deux Girafes.😘

It was a nice hotel, but not great. The room was ok, but not great, the bed slept fine, but was not very big (fine for us). Separate toilet was nice, but the bathroom missed a nice shower. There was a bath with a shower, but showering in a small bath is not comfortable. Using the bath, knowing everybody was standing in it is also a no go. Water pressure was another big disappointment. As was the breakfast, which was strangely organised. There was an €11 and a €19 breakfast. We were sure the €11 was included in the price, but it was not. We only wanted some muesli and fruit and a coffee, so even the €11 was much for a simple bowl. We thought it was strange we needed to pay extra for an egg, and were disappointed that we needed to pay extra for even the breakfast without the egg. If we had known, we wouldn’t have had any breakfast there, because there were much nicer places near. So not the worst experience ever, but no reason to return here.
