We wait 20 minutes just waiting for the man if it were possible to eat. After the man was screaming out loud names and groups to give them a table... He finally said a response to us "no, we don't have a table, give me your name". Something that he could do 20 minutes ago. Then, we wait another 20 minutes (standing) no possible to drink anything. Finally we sat down but we ask for a Spanish cart because we don't understand French food names. He said, of course... But keep screaming names for another 10 minutes. I was amazed, ready to leave the place, but I stand up and give French cards to the man. After that, we wait, of course, until he finally brought Spanish cards. We order after another 10 minutes and ask for water. They bring unbottle water... I thought I was in the reality show when they THROW the bread basket at our table... Every man was in a rush. The food was good... And thank God because it's not cheap at all. I think in a restaurant the food it's vital but the SERVICE it's also really important.. We were just a second to leave the place because of that....

Given Le Berry doesn't take reservations, we arrived a few minutes before their 7pm opening with the hope we could be seated for dinner. We noticed a few others had already been seated on their outdoor, & enclosed, patio and asked that our group of four be seated inside; fortunately the interior was empty of patrons. That changed VERY quickly - by 7:30 all the tables inside were full and the outdoor patio was filling as well. Our waiter was amazing; very patient in answering our many questions regarding the menu, as well as questions about local ingredients. Portions were filling. I was glad that I hadn't ordered an appetizer, so was able to order dessert (vanilla ice cream/chocolate sauce/Chantilly/meringue). Fortunately, my husband was able to assist in eating this enormous, decadent, and delicious dessert! Our dinner at Le Berry was the perfect sendoff as we return home after 2 weeks of hiking in SW France. Merci! Dined in: Thursday,...

Raciste place, on this day of 16th nov at around 19h10, i went to try it out, i stood for almost 5 minutes and ll the staff ignored me. Then someone showed up with his mouth full of food and told me to take a seat and that they ll start at 19h30. I took it easy and went and chose a table. Then clients started coming in (European) and the staff started showing up and giving menus and asking clients which drinks they want....customers that came after me...i gave them 10 minutes and no one came. One of staff came to a table close to mine and he gave me his back and took care of the Europeans... i took my jacket and on my way leaving no one stopped me to ask if something is wrong.

At the door i met the guy who talked to me at the beginning and i told him that apparently i m not welcome here. He did not even try to apologize.

I would recommend this restaurant to customers who are European. For non Europeans there are a lot of...

This is a very cozy restaurant, it has a great ambiance. We are visiting Pau, as non-French people, we feel that this restaurant has the energy of a busy Parisian bistro. We got there at 7 and we were the third or fourth group seated, we didn't have any reservation but were seated pretty quickly. But by 8 the restaurant is full. This place is packed on a cold November Monday night, I guess this shows how good the restaurant is. The escargots are great, the steaks are good, and the desserts are amazing. By the time we were done around 9, there were more people lining up to get in. On our way back to the hotel near the airport, Pau itself is pretty dead at this time, but you can't tell that based on how many people and how busy this restaurant was. Overall a great experience.

Having scanned a few previous reviews of this restaurant I was not overly sure due to the mixed experiences. Ranging from very good to very bad did this place have a Jekyll and Hyde syndrome! We decided to head out to Pau and if this restaurant didn’t take our fancy there are many more close by that we have visited and liked. To our amazement when we arrived the restaurant was full inside and outside on a Wednesday lunchtime! The Manager/Boss suggested we could wait for a short time for a table which we opted to do. So pleased we did as our experience was outstanding with first class service, food, ambiance and location. We will return and hope the consistency is there....
