My recent dining experience at Restaurant Miramar in Canet-en-Roussillon was regrettably far from satisfactory. Despite the promising setting, my visit quickly turned into a culinary letdown that left much to be desired.
The evening commenced on an unpleasant note as I was served a glass of cava that was unacceptably warm. The lack of attention to detail was immediately evident, casting doubt on the overall quality of the establishment's offerings. Unfortunately, matters only worsened from there.
Opting for a grilled fish dish, I was dismayed to find that the fish arrived at my table partially raw. This prompted a return trip to the grill, but the resulting three-minute endeavor seemed to only transform the dish into a dry and tasteless rendition. Equally unfortunate was the accompanying seafood, which suffered the same fate. The culmination of these mishaps rendered both the fish and seafood nearly inedible.
To my surprise, the staff displayed minimal concern for the situation. Despite acknowledging my dissatisfaction with the meal, no meaningful effort was made to rectify the situation or provide a viable alternative. It was disappointing to witness such a lack of professionalism in addressing a legitimate complaint.
On a more positive note, the bread provided was a lone saving grace of the experience, offering a burst of flavor and quality that was unfortunately lacking elsewhere.
As the evening drew to a close, I was faced with a bill that did little to alleviate my disappointment. The promise of a memorable dining experience was overshadowed by a series of unfortunate missteps that left me questioning the restaurant's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
In conclusion, my visit to Restaurant Miramar in Canet-en-Roussillon left much to be desired. From a lukewarm glass of cava to a poorly executed grilled fish dish, the evening was marked by a series of culinary mishaps that marred what should have been an enjoyable...
Read moreThis lively seaside location offers local and regional seafood all prepared and served on drift wood boards which looks awesome. The presentation is great, the atmosphere is fun with live music, cocktail waiters mixing up there concoctions and beautiful seaviews. The staff on our visit were mostly friendly but they were too busy to be attentive or offer a really good service. Food was mostly average to good. On my seafood platter the oysters had been opened a few hours before (not to order) the lobster was frozen dry and inedible, and the langostines were mushy and not too fresh. The crevettes, whelks, red prawns and crab were however very good and fresh. Preparation was lazy on behalf of the kitchen, the crab was just cut in half and lobster claws were not even cracked and no utensils were provided to crack the shellfish until we asked. Overall the food presentation gets a high score, but it's just not as good as it looks. We mentioned the frozen lobster and waiter did not argue or even try to say it was fresh, instead he agreed and took it off the bill (obviously something they are used too.) Price wise it's alot cheaper than the south of France, but still cost us around 50 euro per person with wine. There are plenty of better restaurants and to be honest I would find it hard...
Read moreFirst and foremost, the cleanliness of the place was a major concern. The restaurant seemed poorly maintained, with visible dirt and grime in various corners. It was disheartening to see such a lack of attention to cleanliness, as it greatly affected my overall dining experience. Additionally, I noticed the presence of numerous bugs, which further contributed to my discomfort. It's crucial for any establishment to prioritize cleanliness, and unfortunately, this particular restaurant fell short in this regard. I would rate the food it a 6 out of 10. While some dishes were satisfactory, the overall quality was inconsistent. Some items lacked flavor and appeared hastily prepared. It seemed as though there was room for improvement in terms of taste and presentation. Although I did find a few dishes enjoyable, the overall dining experience was somewhat underwhelming.
On a positive note, I must commend the staff for their good service. The servers were attentive, friendly, and prompt in addressing our needs. Despite the disappointments mentioned earlier, the excellent service provided a silver lining to an otherwise...
