Restaurant LA FERRERIA — Restaurant in Prades

It was a bit of an experience! We came to the restaurant and nobody was in the counter providing information. We went directly to a table and after they served us with water, plates, menu and we were about to order, a waitress came to kick us out. Speaking in french with no intentions of making herself understanood by using English or other language. She said we didn't have any reservation and we couldn't stay. Unfortunately we had to leave the place.

I wish they were more attentive in the entrance to make sure people know details, specialist tourists as we are not from the place we don't know how this work. Also, a bit of an effort in communication, it's not that hard to be more friendly and welcoming even when kicking people out of...

Service was quite poor. I do not blame the waitress as she was quite friendly and seemed to be overwhelmed, however the service was very slow and impersonal. We waited ~25 minutes between our starter and main and our pavé de boeuf was cooked at temperatures we didn’t ask for, which was disappointing considering the price of the set menu (€28). As we didn’t have a reservation we were placed in a odd room which felt very lack lustre, however the waiting staff accommodated us when asking to move. Overall, both the food and the service did not match the price paid. This is simply the best restaurant in Prades by a country mile. The food is amazing, the value is great - only €14 for a three course lunch, and the setting is stunning. Cosy inside for those chilly winter days, lovely terrace with views of the Canigou when the sun shines. And there's free parking in the 'parking des tanneurs'.
