Epices et tout — Restaurant in Reims

We had an excellent time and experience in this restaurant. Really good cocktails to start off with. Then an amuse-bouche of velouté of sweet peas that was really good. For starters, we tried the escargot provençal and shrimp porcini dish. I would have never thought porcini and a perfectly seared shrimp with be such a wonderful combination! For mains, we tried the truffle flavored ravioli served with serano ham (great combination) and the Christmas burger ( with duck confit, foie gras, porcini tapenade)! Our tastes buds were in heaven! Unfortunately, we were so full that we didn't have space for any desserts. But I'd love to head...

Food was unimpressive - I had a rather bland, uninteresting tartare and my wife had the scallops. Food was slow to arrive - we sat down and ordered before a 7-top, but they were served mains first. Maybe being a couple and a smaller ticket we weren't as valued. Host didn't seem interested in serving us, which was unfortunate and disappointing. Only thing we particularly enjoyed was the burrata with tomato starter. Not a 4.8...

I normally would not visit a restaurant more than once when I am on holiday, as I like variety, but my friend and I went to Epices et tout twice in our short stay in Reims.

The service was warm and friendly and the food was fabulous! The drinks menu was also good and I would certainly return if I ever visit...
