I recently stayed at a Novotel hotel in Reims, France with three friends overnight where we used a secure car park provided by the hotel which consisted of coded access entry gate to the car park and Maglock exit gate from the car park and yet two of our motorcycles were stolen.||||I have a real issue with this as when I booked the hotel through Booking.com I tried to reserve a parking space in the car park and was told it wasn’t available for motorcycles and that we should be parking in the train station car park next door which had we done so we would still have our motorcycles! However when we arrived your staff were ‘overly’ keen to suddenly get us to park in the hotel car park…||||The theft occurred at approximately 0315hrs on the 3rd of July and at the time your night manager/porter was conveniently on a break and had to be asked numerous times to call the Police as we were tracking the vehicles and knew their location and instead he just stood around furiously texting away to god knows who and asking for our room numbers when we were clearly requesting Police assistance.||||Once reported to the Police we were also informed that the hotel in Reims has an issue with motorcycles being stolen… so I have two questions for you. ||||1. Why were we not warned of this on arrival? Surely any company/staff of any integrity or standards would have warned us of the thefts of motorcycles in the area and directed us to a more secure location to leave the motorcycles? ||||2. And why were we advised to park in your car park upon arrival having previously been told that we couldn’t park motorcycles there…I can only assume your staff dare I say it, are in on the thefts occurring…||||Through no fault of our own my friend and I have lost high value motorcycles and I’m seriously considering legal action.||Whilst I do understand that in most cases owners vehicles are left at their own risk that risk normally relates to articles inside the vehicles and not the vehicles themselves and my issue lies with the staff not informing us of the thefts as previously mentioned and directing us to your car park when they knew of the...
Read moreI reserved direct on the Accor website 2 superior suites that said they had a "queen size bed, single bed and sofa bed". One room booked for three, one room booked for two (siblings). When we arrived, there was no single bed in either of the rooms, and one room only had the queen size bed made up, which didn't work for us as my two adult sons don't actually want to share a bed, and in the other room whilst the sofa bed had been made up, a sofa bed is of course not as comfortable as a single bed. We asked the team to make the sofa bed up in the other room, and had to remind them again when we came back in after dinner. The nearby public payable parking is height restricted which doesn't work for a car with a top box. The hotel has limited private parking, but this clearly needs to be booked in advance as we were told it was full, but there was no information on the website about booking parking. However, we were allowed to park in one of the priority spaces provided we would be able to move our car if it was needed, which helpfully for us it wasn't, and we appreciated this accommodation.|The bathroom spaces are odd - separate toilet and bathroom that almost feel like they are in cupboards! However, clean and provide what you need.|The rooms were clean, beds comfortable (sofa bed as comfortable as you expect from a sofa bed), and breakfast was good.|10 minutes walk to city centre.|All in all, would recommend if visiting Reims, but if you need parking without height restriction, make sure you contact the hotel to book it, and if you want a separate bed made up in a room sleeping two, then again, contact the...
Read moreWe stayed here for a short stop over on the drive home from Switzerland to the UK. The location was fantastic and we were able to easily walk over to Reims centre where we ate dinner and had drinks.
The hotel was easy to find, it does not have parking dedicated but a multistory car park is literally next door and the hotel does offer a slightly reduced rate here which you pay for when you check in at reception, just exchange your parking ticket you get from the matching for the one they give you at reception and pay the fee.
The hotel was clean and welcoming. Check in was simple and the person that helped us spoke English well and gave us the usual directions to our room and about breakfast the following morning. The room was light, bright and modern. There is a modular design which means you can pull screens around in the room to partician off the sleeping area from the sofa (where a child would sleep if using as a family room). Top tip - the screens are see through if one area is in the light and the other in the dark. They obviously don't do anything for keeping out sound either.
Breakfast was great, not too busy and the food was hot, fresh and all kept topped up so everything was always available.
Check out was simple and we just dropped out key card into the quick check out box.
Overall a great stay, very happily would recommend here to anyone...
