We had THE best Indian meals in France this afternoon at Shiva Indian in Reims. No exaggeration. No flattery. No hidden agenda. The absolute truth. Mr Himanshu, the humble son of his owner father, made the experience extraordinary. The ambience, the hospitality, the high quality of food and the ‘feel good factor’ was top class. Being vegetarians by birth, we always struggle to find a genuinely good vegetarian restaurant on our travels. In some places, the vegetarian food smells of meat, as there is probably some ‘mixing’ of vessels and utensils! We can honestly say that there was absolutely no smell or taste of anything remotely non vegetarian, in the vegetarian food that we enjoyed and relished. We felt that we were eating some high quality home cooked, authentic vegetarian food. Have no hesitation whatsoever in selecting Shiva Indian, if you want to let your taste buds feast on some genuinely top quality Indian vegetarian food. We are very grateful to Mr Himanshu, and his closely knit family, for a memorable experience. We wish this family run business all the very best. Keep up the good work inspired by Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba....

The waiter was so friendly, pleasant and helpful when we asked about gluten free meals (this has not always been the case in French cafes and restaurants unfortunately).
Both waiters had excellent English, which was great.
When ordering, they give you spice/heat level options. They also offer French cheese instead of paneer in case you're dubious about paneer (don't be, it's the most delicious cheese to cook with!)
We had lamb Madras (excellent), palak paneer (excellent), chicken korma (good), and butter chicken (good). The latter two dishes were for my children who like milder dishes.
The kulfi dessert was beautiful, and I also tried lots of sorbets which were tasty too.
We left with lots of free mango sweets from the kind waiter!
Highly recommend...
Read moreWent to the restaurant several times. I have to admit I m addicted to the Poulet Palak/rice/halwa ... and everytime I ring the bell to thank the kitchen staff for the delicious meal they cook because it's, since the first visit, delicious. The food, the savoury, the mixed spices...everything blend perfectly together. You'll be welcomed there as soon as you enter the restaurant - whether it is a normal evening or a busy evening due to a football game at the stadium. Never been disappointed by the Shiva staff or their cooking. Shiva is my favorite place each time I want to eat indian food....
