My friends and I visited this restaurant to celebrate a birthday, but unfortunately, the service fell short of expectations.
We politely inquired about a dish not on the menu, and while the waiter initially confirmed its availability, the manager later informed us they couldn't accommodate the request. This inconsistency caused some confusion.
Our initial entree selection, Malai Kofta, proved to be overly sweet. We sought the manager's recommendation for another dish, but he simply stated everything was a bestseller. We then requested a very spicy Palak Paneer, emphasising our high spice tolerance. However, the dish arrived at an inedible level, seemingly intended to be punitive rather than accommodating.
Despite our disappointment, we opted to leave without finishing the meal. When paying, the manager made no attempt to apologise or acknowledge the issue with the spice level. There was no sense of accountability and instead it was made to feel like it was our fault to not have understood their spice-o-meters.
As someone who enjoys experiencing Indian cuisine globally, and has experience of eating at Indian restaurants in more than 14 countries, this was easily the most frustrating dining experience I've had. Hospitality is a cornerstone of Indian culture, and this restaurant unfortunately falls remarkably short in that regard.
While I can't recommend this restaurant, specially as their first interaction to Indian culture and cuisine, I hope others have a more positive experience.
POST RESPONSE: As mentioned, this is not my first Indian restaurant in France or in the world so the thing about it being french level spicy is not relevant. Amazing how even after getting a feedback there is no sense of apology or accountability. I hope you soon get to learn a thing or 2 about the importance of customer experience :) Wishing you luck because you seem like you...

Visited Délice de l’Inde while in Rennes hoping to enjoy a flavorful Indian meal, but overall the experience was just average. I ordered the Goan shrimp curry, but unfortunately, it was far from authentic — the flavors were quite bland and didn’t reflect the bold and spicy taste typical of Goan cuisine.
Since the curry lacked flavor, I asked for chopped onions and pickle to help enhance the taste. While they did provide them, I was surprised to find an extra charge for these basic accompaniments. In contrast, other Indian restaurants in the area usually offer a welcome drink like sweet wine, along with papadum, onions with chaat masala, lemon, and pickle — and that too without even asking, and at no extra cost.
Another disappointment was the shrimp itself — it was clearly frozen and not fresh, and it wasn’t even cooked properly. For a dish that’s supposed to highlight the seafood, that was quite a letdown.
Overall, Délice de l’Inde has potential but needs to rethink its customer experience strategy and, most importantly, focus on improving food quality. In its current form, I wouldn’t recommend it over other Indian restaurants in Rennes unless some major...
Read moreThe Indian guy in the restaurant has a serious behaviour issue. On the menu, Malai Tikka is mentioned in bold, while other details were in French, we ordered it, but it turned out to be Chicken Malai Tikka. We are vegetarian, so we informed this guy about it, but instead of understanding it he rudely said this is your fault, everything is written you should read it. This was unexpected and disappointing, as whenever an Indian visits an Indian Restaurant, he/she visits with a belongingness. Also, they don't even know the way Indian foods are served, as they served Nan even before the starter !!!! They don't even serve tea !!!
I doubt if it really is an Indian restaurant.
On the contrary, we found that the non-indian guy of the restaurant was a...
