Au Pied De Boeuf — Restaurant in Sélestat-Erstein

Absolutely heavenly food at a very fair price! We came twice on a two-day hiking tour in this area-evenings were reserved for the incredible taste experience here! We had: Entrecôte, Hamburger Séléstadien (just because;-) and their famous Bouchée à la Reine (fine light sauce of veal & chicken filled puff pastry mini towers) served with noodles...and a warm goat cheese salad; incroyable! We were there twice, remember 😉 Oh, and, the service-very forthcoming and attentive, just right; with a very timely and tactful manner! Somehow amazingly, we noticed they could speak the languages of their guests, and were willing to. Not necessarily to be taken for granted in small picturesque...

Service so bad, that if it wasn't for the hungry children in our group, it would have been comical. After being seated and waiting for quite a while for menus we tried to get a couple of menus ourselves and were physically stopped from this by the waiter who forced his hand on top to stop us taking them, and we had to return and wait longer. When the waiter finally came and handed us menus he stood there and immediately expected us to place our order. Meals arrived without sides. Kids menu wasn't prioritised. Throughout the meal it was very difficult to get further service. Laughably atrocious! A shame as the food is...

Vraiment je comprend meme pas les avis positifs sur ce lieu! nous avons ete placé en bout terrasse bien mais il faisait 36°C ce 31 mai et 2 personnes sur 6 avait la tete en plein soleil et rester 2 h ainsi n'aurait pas ete trop agreable, nous avons donc demandé si nous pouvions etre placé ailleurs ou avoir un parasol, on nous a donc placé a l'autre bout de terrasse ou ct le meme probleme. On nous a donc demander si cela allait et quand on a repondu non la personne a souffler et a marmoner que ct comme ça et qu'elle n'en pouvait rien. Bref en entree tarte flambee ct ok. Mais le plat 3 bavettes angus (a 32€ tout de meme) sauce forestiere (sauce a la creme avec champ. surement sachet congelé) ... minuscule et vraiment pas bonne legumes congelés et ratatouille surement en boite. 1 bouchee a la reine plus que moyenne avec des nouilles "boulangere" lol trop cuite. 1 entrecote apparemment ça allait et 1 pavé de boeuf avec 1kg de baies rose dessus. Un vrai attrape touriste, juste dmg que je n'ai pas l'habitude de faire du foodporn car cela aurait ete utile pour etayer mon avis. en gros pour aimer ce restaurant il faut un palais...
