We went to this pizzeria based on a recommendation from the owners of the place we were staying at. However, when we arrived at 7:20 PM, we were told they couldn’t serve us dinner because they were fully booked—even though the dining area was completely empty.
Since dining in wasn’t an option, we asked to order takeaway pizzas, but were told they wouldn’t be ready until 9:00 PM—an hour and forty minutes later. It really felt like they didn’t appreciate the fact that we had children with us.
We didn’t get to try the food, so we can’t comment on that, but the customer service was absolutely zero.

Thank you for your response. However, if you read my review carefully, you’ll see that my main complaint wasn’t about not being able to eat at the restaurant, but rather about the excessive wait time for takeaway pizzas—1 hour and 40 minutes. For a restaurant just beginning its service, such a delay is difficult to justify with a empty dinning area. If takeaway orders cannot be fulfilled within a reasonable timeframe, it may be worth reconsidering whether that option should be offered at all. Regarding your suggestion to reserve a table next time, I appreciate the thought, but given the poor service experience, I’m not...
Read moreWe enjoyed a fantastic lunch at La Romanella in the picturesque Châtenois. The cordon bleu was the best I’ve ever had - tender on the inside, with a crispy outside and a delicious Munster sauce. The green salad with an excellent vinaigrette (thankfully not sweet) was a perfect complement. The pizza was superb, and the fact that dogs are welcome makes it even better. Despite arriving quite late for lunch, the staff was incredibly hospitable and made us feel right at home. The menu offers plenty of choices, with delicious meat, fish, and poultry dishes in addition to pizza and pasta. Absolutely a must-visit! (As soon as Google, fixes the issue of not being able to upload photos to reviews, I promise I will share some beautiful...
Read moreOn a hot weekday, the two of us dined at La Romanella, without a reservation. I had a Pizza Napolienne and my partner a roulée, which is a rolled pizza (not a calzone!). My pizza was delicious. The roulée - I think that's their own invention - was 'on a bed of salad', but that salad was dressed with quite a bit of dressing, which meant that the pizza was soaking in moisture and therefore also got the taste of the dressing. Plus: the dough is quite thick compared to the filling. My partner didn't think it was worth repeating. For dessert a tiramisu (I guess made with whip creme instead of mascarpone) and a fantastic limoncello coupe. The service was super friendly and the price...
