La Table Saint Germain — Restaurant in Saint-Germain-en-Laye

TERRIBLE! I wish I could give negative stars. The food was horrible but I will come back to that. Despite having a reservation we had to wait 30 minutes until someone came to take our order. We then waited another hour (60 minutes) for our food to arrive. We had not ordered anything that took special cooking. The table next to us, who arrived much later m, received their food before us yet the table across from us was also upset at their wait. The staff’s response was “oh, it’s a busy night.” Everyone had reservations so they knew exactly how many people would be there. Apparently not interested in quality service. When the food finally came the woman just slapped it down on the table.

The soup was absolutely tasteless. The poulet curry vert had what looked like chicken scraps and another type of meat seemed to have fallen in. Not only did the chicken taste terrible and the sauce was basically just oil but look at the photo of the chicken. Certainly not something that should be served in a restaurant. Even the sauce bottle on the table was empty yet had something crusty stuck to it. So unfortunate because the menu looks interesting and there’s a big terrace. Anywhere else in the world they would have offered not to charge for the chicken dish as we didn’t eat it. I only worry this review is not clear enough about how bad this was. Normally I do a better job reading other reviews before we go but now looking through it seems many people have said the service is awful and the food is tasteless. Déçue par ce restaurant trouvé au hasard d'une balade dans St Germain. je n'en attendais pas grand chose, rien de plus que dans un restaurant chinois ou Thaï ordinaire? j'ai été dégoutée par les cuisses de grenouilles qui selon moi , présentaient 3 problèmes: 1) la viande en soi n'était pas bonne. 2) elles n'étaient pas assez cuites. 3) la chapelure était ultra-grasse; mais le service a été relativement rapide, donc peut-être n'ont -ils pas pris le temps de "rendre " un peu de gras à la sortie de la friteuse. Autre déception : j'ai laissé une partie de mon assiette, la personne qui la relevée ne s'est pas préoccupée de savoir pourquoi je n'avais pas fini (j'avais absorbé trop de gras!). si j'avais pu lui faire savoir quel avait été mon problème , je ne l'aurais pas écrit ici , en public. Je regrette d'avoir à le faire pour leur passer l'info. La nourriture était bonne comme à notre première/2eme visite mais le service n'était pas très agréable. Mon mari n'a pas aimé le fait qu'un couple arrivé après nous eut été servi avant nous. Je sais qu'il y avait du monde mais on avait l'impression que venir manger là était embêtant pour eux. Pourtant la dernière fois que nous sommes venus là ils étaient très gentils. Mais il n'y avait pas grand monde. Mais là... l'accueil était plutôt froid. Dommage car la nourriture était très bonne mais bon lorsque l'on note un restaurant, on note aussi l'expérience. Ils n'ont même pas dit au revoir quand nous sommes partis et mon mari a cherché leur regard en partant mais ...non. Mon mari a réglé et c'était bye quoi. Pas top. Je ne sais pas si nous allons revenir. On verra bien. Dommage car ce n'est pas loin...
