Restaurant Les Cocottes Porte de Genève — Restaurant in Saint-Julien-en-Genevois

Les Cocottes by Chef Christian Constant is a true culinary gem nestled in the charming town of Saint-Julien, Geneva. This chic bistro perfectly embodies the art of French dining, offering a warm and inviting ambiance paired with exquisite dishes.

The restaurant is very elegant, with beautiful and fancy interior decor.

We ordered beef fillet and requested it to be cooked medium-well, and it arrived exactly as I like it, accompanied by a delicious dauphinois gratin which is a French gratin of sliced raw potatoes baked in cream.

We also tried the sea bass, which was tasty.

As for the starter, it was quite a unique dish that I had never tried before: an artichoke, mushroom, and foie gras salad with hazelnut oil. It was okay.

For dessert, we had ice cream.

The waiters are very helpful and friendly.

There are plenty of parking spaces, and they are free.

Overall, the experience was very lovely. The ambiance of the restaurant was fantastic, and we genuinely had an enjoyable time. As for the food quality and taste,...

One star for my experience at this restaurant is more than enough. Our food came quick, that’s the only good thing about this restaurant. The quality was super basic and that explains it.

Other than that the Ambience is okay. I asked for extra chicken or prawns on the pasta with just tomato sauce. The Waitress said, that it would be only possible if I order the Caesar salad which includes the chicken. I thought it was a joke. It wasn‘t.

After a while she asked the chef and it would be okay for extra 5 Euro. Crazy. The prices for the basic food are already high. Simple pasta with tomato sauce was 19€.

It was also super loud because the restaurant crew kept dropping glasses on the floor. Waitresses had their hair open and it looked messy. It felt like at a fast food place.

At the end we got a wrong bill with extra charge. We mentioned it and the bar man changed our bill.

Too much stress. We did...

Well usually when you go to restaurant based on recommendation with “5*” you expect to be surprised with delicious food quality and customer service, but here we got a really good food based menu where from to chose your evening dishes with good enough atmosphere inside restaurant…

Start was not so bad…!!!

However I would put my review as follow: In regards to Customer Service - here you wait minutes and minutes until some one approach to take your order… No comment about how long we wait for until some one approach to ask about our bill…

Food-wise worth of improvement based for when you choosing French cuisine - means everything must be prepared at highest possible level of standard but my order was like everything they could have been thrown in this cast iron cauldron and cod fish on top,

I will try to leave a space to visit once again...
