Le Restaurant Le Nessay — Restaurant in Saint-Malo

Sunday Brunch: Having experienced a fantastic brunch in 2023, we booked this year hoping for a gastronomic brunch again. Disappointed! Le Nessay had reduced the offer drastically gone were the unusual and luxurious dishes you expect at this kind of brunch. At 50€ per adult, no alchohol included, the only really outstanding offer at brunch were the oysters and these aren’t rare in Brittany. The only other seafood was sardines. The offer was mostly bread items - focaccia, a little smth on toast, and truffle toast. I couldn’t discern truffle so was more of a ham & cheese melt. Tomato salads in 3 ways-really? Charcuterie & cheese boards that require no preparation whatsoever. The hot dishes to be ordered and give more luxurious variety such as traver de porc was overcooked and dry, the scrambled eggs were served from a large premade tray instead of made to order. Dessert - no ice cream, no hot kouign amann. The desserts that were good of course, but all of this is pre-purchased and requires no preparation. But nothing special. Overall - very Poor value for money. Plus, I had the give them a 150€ reserve on my credit card that I was explicitly reminded would be charged at the hour of our reservation. Needless to say, we...

Had a delicious meal with an original menu for a good price (€40 for 3 courses)

HOWEVER I was extramly schoked and saddened to see the exorbitant price of the drinks. €7 FOR A BOTTLE OF WATER. REALLY !!!!! And it's "smartly" done as they ask "would you like a bottle of work to start" without of course mentioning the price. A glass of wine is 9 - 15 euro and first price bottle around €50 and it's nothing special. This left a bad taste in the mouth (pun intended 😉)

Nous avons fait le déplacement de loin car je suis tombée amoureuse de cet endroit il y a trois ans et j'adore y passer mes étés sur la terrasse avec mes amis.

Je n'étais jamais venue au restaurant, mais j'ai été déçue. Je voulais faire découvrir cet endroit à mon compagnon pour la Saint-Valentin, mais tout d'abord, il était impossible de trouver le prix en ligne. Ensuite, lors du diner nos boissons sont arrivées après que nous ayons terminé nos plats. De plus, nous avons payé plus de 170 euros pour un menu correct, mais sans produits d'exception et sans accords mets et vins. La salle n'est pas exceptionnelle non plus et ne possède pas le charme du château ; le cadre en soirée n'est pas aussi intéressant qu'en journée. En somme, il n'y a pas vraiment de raison de venir dîner au restaurant si les tarifs restent aussi élevés.

Cependant, nous reviendrons avec joie au bar tout l'été, car le rapport qualité/prix est justifié dans ce cadre. Ce dîner, malheureusement, n'a pas été à la hauteur de nos attentes, mais nous restons des habitués de l'endroit et espérons y vivre de meilleurs moments à l'avenir.
