We booked this hotel because the restaurant had good reviews but I wish I had paid more attention to the hotel reviews. We had a very poor experience. After a 6 hour drive with children, and having spent 360 euros on a room here, we were told there were no tables available for dinner. We did not receive any communication from the hotel prior to our arrival advising us to book a table so assumed we would be able to just go to the restaurant on arrival. The staff were unhelpful and when we asked to speak to a manager, Didier himself came out and shouted and swore at us and was incredibly rude. We were utterly gobsmacked by his attitude and aggression and if we hadn’t prepaid for the room we would have left there and then. We ended up eating at RDV down the road which was excellent with kids. ||||The room itself wasn’t great. The only positive was the nice view. We had a suite but it was more like 2 small doubles with a randomly placed shower in the middle. One bed was very soft, the other (sofa bed) very hard and uncomfortable. The shower ‘wall’ was all glass so hard to use early morning without putting a light on and waking the kids. The worst part though was the drain – it didn’t work at all, so within 1 minute of turning on the shower, the entire shower room was flooded with 1 inch of water which then flooded out into the bedroom too, soaking clothing and washbags that we had sitting on the floor (due to lack of space). Read moreWe stayed in this Hotel in August 2019 for 8 days. During this time, we tried breakfast, lunch and dinner. We took the biggest suite. We were with one toddler (2.5 years old) and baby (4 months old). I believe the hotel was wrong choice for holiday with children as there were narrow steps everywhere and we could not take baby pram to the room. Generally, the service was very poor or non existent. The reception was most of the time without any person there. The staff could speak only very basic English and it was hard to get any advice about local attractions etc. The breakfast had only one type of salty bread and on one day the bread was gone so we had to eat ham with sweet bread despite paying full price for breakfast. However, the worst experience we had at the end of our stay when we call a taxi driver Luc Tacher initially recommended by the Hotel. This taxi driver was late 30 min on our drive to the airport for our return flight to London. We were obviously stressed and worried about the delay and asked him for reason of his delay. At that point he got angry and has driven off leaving us with small children on the street. The hotel staff called two other taxis but they were not available so they simply walked out of the reception leaving us alone without any help and solution. We shocked that after spending there whole week, paying for fine dining and expensive suite we were treated like nuisance at the end.
