An Exquisite Dining Experience in Grand Case Bistrot Caraibes, a culinary landmark in St. Martin since 1994, continues to impress with its exceptional cuisine and impeccable service.
Our recent dinner at Bistrot Caraibes was a journey of culinary excellence. We began with two outstanding appetizers: the house-made smoked salmon and the Eggplant 'Bavaroise' with Crab. Both dishes were a testament to the kitchen's mastery in balancing flavors and textures. However, the highlight of the evening was the Dover Sole, a dish that demands anticipation and is well worth the pre-order. Its preparation was flawless, a true showcase of Bistrot Caraibes' seafood expertise.
The Proprietors, brothers Thibault, Amaury, and Chef Dimitri, have cultivated a team that delivers top-tier service. Their attention to detail and genuine hospitality significantly enhance the dining experience.
It's worth noting that Bistrot Caraibes also offers vacation rentals, adding another dimension to their hospitality services. More information can be found on their website.
For those with a Magic of the Caribbean Card, Bistrot Caraibes has a special treat in store. You can enjoy a 10% discount, making this already superior dining experience even more appealing. It's a privilege that adds an extra layer of satisfaction to your visit.

Read moreManager is very nice( the guys meets you at the door ) but the service had to be improved. I don’t know how people make this place even 3 star because it’s all bla bla bla there but not much actions. Order for my child came not what ordered and when we informed waiter of wrong order we waited 30 minutes until we called waitress and mentioned that the grilled chicken can not take 30-40 minutes( it’s ok for adults to wait I guess for about 45 minutes but not for a child! Especially if they made a mistake with order) and we got responce,” but you asked for exchange chicken nuggets for grilled chiken’. I was shocked because we did not ask an exchange , we never ordered chiken nuggets! Well than my scallops came... hm waiter said , ‘ be careful it’s too hot!’ When I tried it- it’s was not even warm, COLD and terrible taste! Anyways I tried 2 out of 7 and left the plate. My husband had fillet of meat which was ok but not as delicious as at La Auberge Gourmande. I would actually reccomend for anyone in grand case area to try La Auberge Gourmande as it’s was just amazing food and top service!!! So we left Hungry that bistrot and we’re very disappointed, and yes, I’m glad I did not order lobster as I guess I would be waiting for my meal more that 1.30 hrs! And I can’t do it with kids...
Read moreFood was good but overall experience was poor. Really disappointing service. Zero warmth or kindness, was made to feel like we were doing them a favor by eating there. (And we are really nice, friendly people!). Plenty of staff, the restaurant wasn't too busy, but nobody ever took our drink order at the start, so we didn’t order cocktails. Nobody ever came to check on us after any of the courses were served. Getting a second bottle of water was a real challenge, we finally ordered but it never came, so our dinner sat and got cold while we tried to get a drink.
Vibe was totally off. I can’t remember the time I left a restaurant without having espresso, but we felt so uncomfortable we couldn’t wait to get out of there, so can’t speak for the dessert. Servers attitudes ranged from aloof to fairly hostile (girl bussing tables.) There was one server who seemed kind and was engaged with her tables and we wished we had her. We’ve had great experiences at all of the other restaurants we dined at in St Martin (L’Atelier, L’auberge Gourmand, Coco Beach, Le Pressoir, etc.). But for us, this place was definitely not representative of “The Friendly...
