Elevated French cuisine! This is our favorite restaurant in Saint Martin. Do not miss it! We’ve been coming to the island for years but only discovered Le Cottage in 2022. After our first visit, we had to go back to bring friends and family. Now we have pretty much tried the entire menu. The fixed menu is lovely but they always have great daily specials that will be sure to please you.
From the fixed menu my girlfriend loves the famous green pea soup. It comes with a perfectly poached egg that oozes once you break it. Other favorite appetizers were the foie gras lasagna which is made with layers of seared foie gras (not the paté) and the lobster ravioli which is not typical because it’s siting in a Thai inspired coconut curry base and has a lemongrass flavor. The portobello mushroom appetizer was also very nice.
For a main, the Angus steak with foie gras on top is always something we drool over. I've ordered it more than once. It never disappoints. It comes with a morel mushroom sauce and it is divine. They give a significant sized piece of foie gras and the steak is consistently cooked to perfection.
Drinks are great too. I really enjoyed the espresso martini. It’s a contender for one of the best I’ve ever had. It's a drink a frequently order. The wine list is solid, mostly French wines.
On our third visit my girlfriend tried the lobster tasting menu and was not disappointed by any of the dishes. I sampled her lobster bisque in puff pastry and it wasn’t too heavy or overly creamy which is sometimes hard on the stomach. Most French food is very rich and sometimes harder to digest but nothing at Le Cottage ever gave me any issues.
All desserts were incredible. Especially the one where they pour the hot chocolate overtop and melted away the chocolate sphere. I don’t know what it was but we had it more than once. My girlfriend would not let me get away without ordering it.
Le Cottage is an intimate setting and service is on point. Make a reservation because it’s popular for a reason. We are fluent in both French & English but we have friends who don’t speak any French and it was never an issue. The staff is wonderful and very accommodating. Our favorite waiter, Julien is always attentive and friendly. Buy...

Among the highlights are the foie gras lasagne with morel mushroom sauce, the famous lobster bisque in a puff pastry crust, and the filet of Angus beef Rossini. For those looking to elevate their dining experience, we highly recommend the "ou les verres ont la parole" menu. This option allows you to sample the best combinations of wines and dishes, curated by Stéphane himself. It's an exceptional journey through flavors that perfectly complement each other. During our recent visit, we started with cocktails, followed by starters Salmon Duo and Lobster Ravioli. As a main followed the Filet de Boeuf and Lamb Shank. We paired our dinner with our favorite Sancerre wine, which enhanced the flavors and created a harmonious dining experience that we won't soon forget. Read moreThis is one of those WOW restaurants. From reservations, service and finally the kitchen a group of people who excel in their positions on the team. Reservations are easy via email, and upon arrival greeted professionally and with polite enthusiasm. Every part of the meal was memorable. Each course masterfully paired with a wine. The amuse bouche of olive tapenade and toasted bread round s was a wonderful way to prepare your palate for your meal. Perfect compliment for cocktails or wine. Standouts foie gras lasagna!! This is simply a dish not to miss. The goat cheese three ways was nice but lacked a little something maybe a warm tarragon honey drizzle over the cheese? The baby arugula salad with the honey dressing was very nice but one of the cheese presentations was simply too dry. The appetizer special was a mani tartar studded with pineapple and a delightful citrus crunch & citrus whipped cream was well balanced and a treat for the palate The entree special, black sea bass could not have been better. Perfectly prepared welcomed crunch on the skin and paired with a nice duxelle. The dish was presented with wilted spinach, potato wedges and carrot purée quenelles. Simply no room for dessert but I’ve enjoyed the caramel soufflé on a previous visit. My only issue is the cigarette smoking . There is no smoking section so as a diner you are totally at the mercy of your fellow diners. I asked the table next to me to please respect our meal which they did. This however is unfortunately not the norm. Perhaps a “heads up” when making your reservation will assist. Highly recommend and I personally can’t...
