I have stayed at many well-run boutique hotels and this was not one of them. It is a run by a bunch of young Frenchmen, I would say 20's to early 30's who function as waiters first but do not have a cohesive hotel hospitality front. We got the tour and Oliver though nice, seemed frazzled and sweaty. Alot of the tour seemed thrown together as in leaving our unattended luggage in the lobby to telling us were to set the thermostat in the room. It reminded me of someone that had to present a research paper to the class and instead the student was just add-libbing the speech and inserting opinion. The orientation lacked polish and professionalism-more about this later. The room had a nice rustic beach theme, and the glass balcony had a beautiful view overlooking the beach. The beach is top notch and in prime location. In fact, my favorite part of the hotel was the beach that corresponds to them. We ordered breakfast and though I requested my coffee with cream and sugar, I noticed it was practically black; I asked about it, and the waiter said "Oh we ran out of cream"...my opinion of this place really starting to tank at this point... the bed itself is comfy, but the bedspread feels scratchy, short of sandpaper and sometimes stained. We stayed in the superior suite upstairs and it comes with a king-size bed. The pillows were standard euro size which meant they were small square pillows, thus my head kept rolling off of them. Also, I found them to be uncomfortable and lacking in neck support so every day I woke up with a stiff neck. King size beds should come with queen or king size pillows or at least have them available. The bath and beach towels never smelled fresh they always smelled sour and gross I often wondered if they use soap. The lack of a concierge made it so that I had to inform them of alternative taxis that had better service and better prices, where to rent a kayak in low season and giving input about places we were going or places to eat at, they had no clue about most things we inquired about. There is lack of a reception period. I always had to chase down the first person I would spot in the restaurant or bar. The most egregious offense was the stench of raw Sewage that permeated the entire hotel; we stayed there 8 days and 7 nights and only had breakfast on the first day and last day (for efficiency) and never ate any other meals there because the stench was so bad. Many times I covered my nose until I cleared the area because I seriously would have gag reflex. If you think I'm making this up there are other reviews that mention this. One night I returned to the hotel late with an ice cream craving. Against my better judgement and since the stench wasn't so intense as it was a pretty windy night, I ordered a scoop of amazing ice cream; however, the stench smell started to intensify so my husband and I started to eat our ice cream fast just to get out of there as soon as possible. We had 2 interactions with the owner and she didn't even ask about how we were enjoying our stay or not even a Thank you as we were paying about 300 dollars a night to stay there for 8 days and seven nights. I tried to make small talk but she was indifferent and not too friendly. On our last day the director showed up... in what seemed to be a recurring theme of givjng their unsolicited opinion on things that they should not opine about she kept insisting that the taxi in the front was our taxi and I kept telling her that it wasn't as it was for someone else and it wasn't going to the airport. This condescending, ignorant tone was an undercurrent with the service there. Ironically, the hardest and nicest workers there were Erwan & Capt.Charles (Ricardo).
We had inquired about late check out so that we could use the beach one last time as we had to leave to the airport by 2pm and the checkout was at 11:00 am.
We were flatly denied even though we asked for one extra hour and we were willing to pay additionally fees... even if there was someone else that had booked the room, he/she would not be able to check...
Read moreI wanted to love this place but the food was mediocre and the service was atrocious. Les Temps appears run by thoughtless frat boys who need to work on their customer service and decision making skills—they know nothing about hospitality. Please save yourself the frustration and book elsewhere —I enjoyed nearby Bistrot Caraibes (amazing food) or Ocean 82 instead (great food, beach views, flyover planes). I arrived a bit late for my 6pm New Year’s Eve reservation, but was relieved to find that Le Temps was empty—there were only 2 other tables seated. The host ushered me to a high top in the bar. Surrounded by a sea of empty tables, many of them 2tops, I quickly asked if I could be moved to a neighboring table and was told no, that the restaurant was fully booked. When I pressed, the manager seemed annoyed but offered me an interior 2top but with a strict time limit —in this COMPLETELY EMPTY restaurant!! I didn’t want to be rushed, and it’s still Covid, so I chose to stay at the high top in the bar for ventihilation but had to suffer the staff’s repugnant cigarette smoking while there. Ew! At 8pm I requested my check and noted that the neighboring table I originally requested was STILL EMPTY, as were at least FOUR other 2tops—the restaurant was still only half full, and they had POINTLESSLY made me eat in the bar on NYE, though I HAD A RESERVATION. My recompense: a cheap glass of house Prosecco— the manager didn’t even bother to send over a glass of my chosen drink of the night—the sheer thoughtlessnes speaks volumes. The only saving grace of this place was the waitress Cece —she made me feel very welcome, forget about the rest of the staff— including the bartenders who seemed nice but instead stood behind the bar, openly critiquing/discussing dining guests ON NYE (yes, I witnessed this, and they saw me witness it, so they topped off my drink for me... but it was still RUDE). As I said, thoughtless frat boys with no manners. Take your...
Read moreWORST EXPERIENCE, TERRIBLE STAFF - I wanted to rent a chair on the beach. When I inquired the staff about the chair rental pricing, they said it was $15 OR I could purchase something from the menu and get the chair for free. I ordered the cheese platter from the menu and a bottle of water. Once the food was ready, the male server (Alex) pulled up 2 additional chairs for the others I was with (not mentioning that the extra chairs would be $20 each). As soon as we were done snacking, we laid down on our own chair for approximately 2-3 minutes before the server came over and said we would be charged for the additional 2 chairs. Since we did not want to be charged for the additional chairs, we got up right away to pay our bill. When we received the bill, they charged us for 3 chairs at $20 a piece ($5 each more than what they mentioned earlier - yes, we used the extra chairs for about 2-3 minutes), the $22 cheese platter, and a $7 bottle of water - as you can see, this had totally thrown us off guard - we should have only been charged for the $22 cheese platter and $7 bottle of water for the one chair we asked for, we should NOT have also been charged $20 for 3 chairs. When we confronted them about this, they argued with us and one of the male waiters (Alex) walked past me and pushed me with his shoulder. I am disgusted with how rude these 3 treated us and I can honestly say we were very friendly up until they started yelling at stating they would call the cops if we didn't pay the bill in full. If you are thinking about dining here - keep walking. There is nothing special about this place and the terrible members that make...
