Positives: Food, service, ambiance. Negatives: None to speak of. Decor/Ambiance/Service: Situated on the Passage Henri Gautier (Saint Nazaire), Le Petit Goinfre is attractive from the outside and inside, with a protected outdoor seating area isolated from the carpark next door by a good hedge. Service was courteous, friendly and timely and there was never a time we felt rushed. The restaurant was under pressure and worked to make space for us as we did not book in advance. Service was a little disorganised at times and we had to ask a 2nd time for water, a plate for our young son and a knife and other bits. It wasn’t a major thing. Food: We ate on Saturday lunchtime. The menu focussed on a small number of classic french dishes with other northern european influences (e.g. Gravlax). We took took two ‘Menu Petit Goinfre’ and 2 ‘Menu Enfant’. For the ‘Menu Petit Goinfre’ we took Gravlax followed by Bavette Alloyau, and St Marcelin followed by Cotelets d’Agneau. For the ‘Menu enfants’, we chose one chicken nuggets and one Steak Haché. Everything was well prepared and well cooked. The chicken nuggets and steak haché were prepared on site with good quality meat so we were happy to take the steak haché rare. Both were served with good chips and salad. The Gravlax was served with Gaspacho ice cream and a mousse (I forget the detail) with watermelon and lemon. It worked really well together and I loved it. The bavette was served with caramelised onion and chips. The meat was cooked rare and was good, but not as tender as some I’ve had. The St Marcelin was great and the lamb, served with gravy was also tasty. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend le Petit Goinfre. Food was great and the prices were correct.

Delightful, very busy spot for lunch. The service was wonderful as they dealt with my terrible French very nicely. The food was amazing. I had the dorade (which in US is called sea bream) with some lovely perfectly grilled vegetables. Jerry had the sausage and he said it was wonderful and the mashed potatoes better than we get at home. He also had the terrine for a starter. All together a wonderful experience surrounded by no one who spoke English!

Worst black angus beef i have had since i can remember, i ordered medium cooked, the meal arrived under 5 minutes, the beef was totally undercooked, no taste in anything in the dish, i asked to have it taken away, they insisted to have it recooked but i declined, after taking it away the waiter brought me the meal in a doggy bag, never have i seen such total neglect in a restaurant.

I travel 270 days a year and eat in restaurants daily, never have i ever, seen such lack of professionalism in a restaurant.

I paid for all, becouse i did not want to interact with the staff any more than i had to, my only hope is that this review will deliver some karma to the people/owners.

The expectations for this restaurant was...
