Maison GAC — Restaurant in Saint-Pierre

Two stars because at least my sister (who I am visiting) and my dad could have their icecreams. I have a diet restriction, we asked them about gluten-free icecreams and we were told there is only gluten in icecreams with biscuits, which sounded weird since many times there is gluten in icecreams that don't have biscuits in them. We asked them for the menu of allergens (which I thought was mandatory to have in all places serving food) and we were told they didn't have it (they were still 'creating' it?). For people with food restrictions it is not enough to '''believe''' something doesn't have the specific ingredient. I have worked in similar establishments and the least I would have done is check the ingredients listed in the packaging. Much more easy to say 'yes you can eat it' (and compromise my health) or 'I won't check it for you' :) Edit: my sister was translating since they don't speak...

Clients fidèles de la Maison GAC depuis longtemps, nous apprécions toujours la qualité de vos glaces, qui sont parmi les meilleures de l’île 👌.

Notre dernière visite, en revanche, a été un peu décevante : après plusieurs minutes d’attente devant le comptoir, sans bonjour ni signe d’attention, malgré 4 vendeuses derrière, nous avons fini par repartir sans même avoir dégusté de glace. C’était frustrant, car nous avions choisi depuis longtemps.

Nous comprenons que le samedi soit une journée chargée et que le succès attire beaucoup de monde. Nous n’en voulons pas à l’équipe et savons que ce n’est pas représentatif de toutes nos expériences passées. Mais sur ce coup-là, nous nous sommes sentis un peu ignorés.

Les 3 étoiles ne concernent donc pas la qualité des glaces, qui reste irréprochable, mais uniquement notre mauvaise expérience et notre frustration du jour.. (sinon ce serait ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐).
