Actually I don't know who Mikelef Jean-Luc is, but at No. 5 rue de la République is Oscar's Brasserie. After spending four weeks in Le Bugue and realizing I have eaten lunch at Oscars at least three times a week I don’t know that I need go farther in this review. But here is what I know: It isn’t fancy, nor expensive. They serve lunch only excepting a couple of nights a week in July and August when they serve dinner too. Wait to be seated. In summer or a sunny day in the fall make a reservation for the seats under the grape arbor looking over the river. Their house rosé won the gold medal in Bordeaux in 2016. It’s 2.1€ for a small carafe good for two glasses. The country paté with foie gras is 2.9€. If this place was in my home town, I’d never have to go to...

All in all if you are around here definitely...

The food was an absolute disaster — bland, cold, and somehow both overcooked and underseasoned at the same time. I’ve had better meals at gas stations at 2 AM. Honestly, microwaving frozen food would have been a gourmet experience compared to this mess.
The “hamburger” I ordered? More like a dry, leathery slab of regret. The vegetables tasted like they were boiled three days ago and left to sulk in the fridge. And the dessert? I wouldn’t feed it to my worst enemy — unless I was trying to...
