After reading the reviews, we were very sceptical of going to this restaurant, however we decided to take a chance as there are not many restaurants open on a Monday or Tuesday in Domme. We had a great experience with lovely food and very friendly staff. The view from the restaurant is the best in Domme! We thoroughly enjoyed the salmon, duck, beef fillet and crème brûlé from their set menu. We felt like the food was well-priced as it was delicious and the portion sizes are very generous! However, it became clear that we were one of the few tables who were lucky enough to have a nice experience. The tables around us were upset by waiters getting their orders wrong, having to wait a very long time to be helped and being asked to move to different tables. Just also a small note: you cannot sit by the tables with the best views if you’re just going for drinks. Although we had a great experience, the restaurant overall has an atmosphere of being overwhelmed. I think your chances are better of having a great experience if you go during...
Read moreWe love this bar in winter, when it shrinks back to just the tiny indoor bar. It's shaded terrace is fabulous in the summer, the views are unsurpassed in an area rammed with amazing views and on days when the thermometer seems I like it might explode there is often a welcome breeze up here. It's a brilliant spot for a coffee, ice cream, crepe or a drink and relatively inexpensive for the location. The food is good if you want simple omelette/frites etc but a wee bit overpriced, that said it never ceases to amaze us what the tiny kitchen can produce- we tend to eat elsewhere but have desert here. Service is pretty efficient in summer but can be slow to get served when it is busy but at quieter times of the day the staff have time to chat and it's very relaxed. You can sit and nurse a coffee or drink for as long as you like. When you go for a desert or drink you will want to come back-maybe not if you have a meal. Treat this like a bar which it is and not like a restaurant which it isn't and just sit back and...
Read moreJust went for lunch, place looked very inviting, had a great selection of local dishes, nice to see a kids menu( we have a 2 year old). That's when it got worse, they served all the French before us, left us waiting for over half an hour, we eventually ordered food and drinks, when the drinks came the waiter dropped my drink on my son, he didn't seem bothered, the food when it came was excellent, at this point my son was getting a bit loud, we tried to calm him down but every parent who has a 2 year old will understand that it's pretty much impossible, there were French children in the restaurant screaming, but it was us who got told too keep the child quiet!!! Ok if you're French or have a dog, as they turn a blind eye to the feeding of a dog at the table or a screaming French child, avoid if you're English or...
