Restaurant Le Saint Gabriel — Restaurant in Toulon

I had the pleasure of discovering Chef Romain's restaurant, Saint-Gabriel, in Toulon after meeting him at a wine exhibition near the Saint-Tropez. I decided to give it a go whilst visiting Toulon for business. What a gem! My family and I were blown away by the delicious food, generous portions, and fantastic wine selection. The bone marrow was a standout, and the calamari with artichokes was simply spectacular. I highly recommend this place to anyone seeking a memorable dining experience in Toulon. Sadly by the port it's hard to have a good experience. The people who work thought we couldn't speak any french, which is partly true. But overhearing a prolonged arguement about the "incorrect" order (in which one meal arrived one hour late and half raw) and then how we could be soothes with rum (we could not) and finally when the bill arrived it was was wrong. Nous étions deux ce soir au Saint Gabriel à Toulon, un véritable joyau sur le port. Pour débuter, j’ai opté pour les boules de kefta en entrée : croustillantes à l’extérieur, fondantes à l’intérieur, parfaitement assaisonnées — une mise en bouche absolument délicieuse. Mon collègue, quant à lui, a choisi les “esches”, et nous avons tous deux été conquis.

En plat principal, nous avons craqué pour la spécialité de la maison : les tentacules du Saint Gab, servies en persillade avec un aïoli maison. Et là… un pur bonheur : tendres, savoureuses, généreuses — une vraie explosion de saveurs typiquement provençales.

Le dessert était à la hauteur des précédents plats : gourmand, raffiné, parfaitement exécuté.

Mention spéciale au personnel, vraiment au top du début à la fin ! Chaleureux, attentionné, très professionnel, ils nous ont parfaitement accompagnés dans le choix des plats, tout en créant une ambiance conviviale et détendue. Cela fait toute la différence.

Le cadre, surplombant le port, ainsi que la déco bistrot-chic, contribuent à rendre ce moment tout simplement parfait. Une belle harmonie entre cuisine de qualité, service irréprochable et ambiance charmante — un combo gagnant qui mérite largement 5 étoiles.

Nous reviendrons sans hésiter, et recommandons chaudement le Saint Gabriel à tous les amateurs de gastronomie méditerranéenne et d’expériences...
