Le Montagu — Restaurant in Toulouse

The Montagu is one of 2 bakeries on this street and of the 2 is the only one that makes and cooks their own bread. There are more varieties of bread to choose from (my personale fav is the Chia-courge) but they are all quite good if you don't mind paying a little more than the norm. The bakery also makes sandwiches and pizzas for lunch or a little snack as well as a variety of patries. You can sit in the morning with a chausson au pommes and a coffee and it is quite pleasant. Up to you to go and order what you want and to take your tray to your seat. It's a local bakery so the service is one at a time and at the counter. It requires a modicum of patience sometimes. Le Montagu : the bakery which saved my morning. Craving for a coffee, I was looking around and I found Le Montagu. The coffee is good and the pastries too. I also tried their sandwiches. Un peu déçue :( J'y venais régulièrement, notamment pour le sandwich parisien, un classique indémodable qui était particulièrement bon et très abordable chez Le Montagu.

Aujourd'hui je constate que le prix a augmenté, cela aurait pu être sans incidence si je n'avais pas retrouvé un jambon bas de gamme et insipide à l'intérieur de mon sandwich. La portion d'emmental n'est pas vraiment généreuse, on y perd l'intérêt de ce sandwich c'est dommage. Le pain est quant à lui toujours aussi bon, mais malheureusement ça ne sauve pas le sandwich.

Toutefois... Tout n'est pas négatif. Mention spéciale pour les vendeuses qui y sont toujours très sympathiques.

Les cannelés et les madeleines coque chocolat blanc sont vraiment excellents !

Bref, une garniture de sandwich à revoir, mais des pâtisseries toujours aussi bonnes.

Sachez toutefois que maintenant, la boulangerie ne prend plus les tickets restau, c'est dommage car c'était un argument supplémentaire pour moi de venir y...
