I have the right and freedom to post a review on Google Maps in English based on my real experience: I have been bullied, discriminated against, and harassed by many residents here due to numerous social rumors, female competitions coming from nowhere, my nationality, my race and human jealousy. There were SO MANY of them that I even LOST THE STRENGTH to fight back. I was totally an experimental animal, being observed, labeled, marginalized and judged. RIDICULOUS. Based on my experiences and the extent of exclusion and bullying faced by neurodivergent or suspected neurodivergent international students by citizens of this country, even though there is a significant number of neurodivergent international students worldwide who are studying, living, creating and making contributions to their communities and the world, France should become the first country in the world to ban neurodivergent and suspected neurodivergent international students from entering. Such a law would not only align with their public sentiment but also protect the neurodivergent community from being attacked. At the same time, based on the lessons I learned I suggest that international travelers/students/workers who suspect they are neurodivergent NOT do anything about it. This is especially true for those from minority ethnic backgrounds: you will face MUCH MORE bullying, harassment, racial prejudice and racial...
Read moreIt's a good university but beware of their very shady exam practices. They are set up to make you fail. Most of your exams will be orally examined by one examiner per exam, who this person is will have major impact over what grade you get, no matter how prepared you are. This leads to the ridiculous scenario where students try to time their entrance so that they get the "friendly" examiner. In any case this is scandalous, the oral exams are not transparent, and your grade depends greatly on the whims of whoever you end up with.
The re-sit exams are a farce. They have a 99% failure rate and are essentially impossible to pass. The university has been sued several times over the various techniques they use to make these impossible. Every time they have lost the lawsuits and simply found another way to screw the students. For proof simply check the law reports of the administrative court.
Some professors are known for being bullies but I'd say that most of them are very good. The admin is very French in its tedious bureaucracy, but be polite to them and they will move mountains for you. Good cafeteria, good library, good facilities, very...
Read moreI studied here for 3 years. You really do get everything you need: The campus life is particularly rich, with activities organized by different university bodies, like the Language Ressource Center, the Sports Department, student associations and department heads themselves. All of these people are genuinely involved in creating a welcoming and stimulating atmosphere, which makes life on campus rife with opportunities to socialize if you are an outgoing person and willing to sign up for those activities that are constantly available.
The administration is responsive, and the program managers really do care about the students' well-being within their programs, as you can talk to them about issues that are going on with materials, methods, or even teachers and other students if necessary.
Overall I can't say that I regret my choice to study here, these have been some truly satisfying years with competent management and excellent teachers all around me making...
