Restaurant La Tosca — Restaurant in Toulouse

This place is a gem. The interior is beautifully decorated by the incredibly modest and charming owner who definitely could do business as an interior designer if the pizza place for some mysterious reason doesn't work out. But why that should happen, I can't imagine!

The pizzas are some of the best I have had since I left California and that's saying something! The crust is nice and light, the ingredients are fresh and tasty and if you really can't make up your mind which pizza to get, they will make you a half and half.

I have this crazy standard to evaluate a place as to whether they really care about their customers, apart from the obvious, and that is the bathroom (excuse me, the toilet) If they have care enough to make that nice to me it says they care about the customer. And the facilities here makes you really want to have a meeting in the ladies room. Or at least hang out for a little while dreaming you are in an Italian villa which this bathroom seems to belong in. There is an outdoor terrace with an edge of mist for those really hot summer days (and nights) and in winter time there is even a fireplace! I did mention the pizza is fabulous, right? En préambule d'un voyage sur indication d'un hôtel à proximité nous avons dîné dans ce restaurant à 5 ; Repris depuis 3 mois, dixit la serveuse, les jeunes présents font preuve de beaucoup d'application. La cuisine est soignée ; en observant les pizzas servies à nos voisins, celles- ci faisaient envie. Partant très tôt le lendemain nous avons plutôt opté pour des pâtes fraîches et gnocchi. A mon sens la portion était petite ; la serveuse nous demandant si il nous restait de la place pour le dessert, j'ai sauté sur l'occasion de lui faire remarquer que les assiettes étaient un "peu juste", que mes pâtes fraîches avec la même sauce que mon collègue et ses gnocchi ne nécessitait aucun pain car zéro sauce... et ce de manière poli. Je l'ai sentie vexée, car on sent qu'ils font cela avec cœur. Elle m'expliqua qu'il y avait 200g de pâtes fraîches ; j'ai regarder pour comparaison de quantité les plats individuels tout prêts type "Marie" : ils sont entre 280 et 350g. 200g peuvent convenir pour les petits mangeurs ; vous voilà averti. Notez que cela ne change pas la qualité de ce qu'il nous a été servi. Nous avons donc pris un dessert. Un vrai festival !!! Pour le coup le café est très gourmand et la planche de fromages gargantuesque. Planche de fromages dédiée à l'Aveyron avec un "parmesan aveyronais" séché dans le clocher de la cathédrale de Rodez (s'il vous plaît !). Le tout accompagné d'un pain maison issu de la pâte à pizza : 4 j de pousse lui confère une finesse aérienne (très très loin des standards industriels). En bref : des jeunes à l'écoute en devenir pour peu qu'ils tiennent compte des remanarques constructives (et je suis convaincu qu'ils sauront s'en inspirer ). A chacun de se faire son avis. We went to La Tosca early in the evening on a weekday. We had to wait a few minutes for the restaurant to open. It was probably not the best time to get the typical flair of the restaurant.
