A wonderful little gem of a restaurant. We ate there this evening and had a great meal. I went in not knowing much at all about Korean food and the waitress was very helpful with explaining how to eat things. The food was delicious, but hard to describe. It came out looking super fancy with all the little dishes and sides, but the flavours were so down to earth and wholesome. Nothing overwhelming. Nothing too rich. Nothing greasy. Just good, clean, well-balanced soul food, with a great mix of textures and flavours. I had the dolsot bibimbap and it was delightful. Unfortunately I can't eat spicy food so my friend had to eat the little red noodle things, but I demolished everything else at record speed with much joy. He had the gogi with beef and chicken and said it was very good. He enjoyed that he could build each bite to taste different. And the dessert! Oh my gosh... I had the pancake dessert with the nuts and cinnamon and it was honestly like eating bites of the spirit of autumn. Absolutely delicious. My friend had the green tea cheesecake, which had less of a wow factor but was lovely and creamy, and he very much enjoyed it.
I found the restaurant clean and with a pleasant atmosphere. I liked that they had the Korean style chopsticks and when I sent pictures to a Korean friend, she said everything right down to the stoneware looked authentic.
It was also extremely reasonably priced. For 2 people for a 3 course meal, plus a beer and a whole bottle of soju (€14) the bill came to €76, so about €30 per head, excluding drinks. Excellent value for money. The portions were perfectly sized and we left full and content. Would absolutely 100% go again.
The only word of caution is that you must make a reservation in advance. The restaurant is very small with limited tables. We were lucky to arrive early enough that we could use one of the tables before a later booking, but they were turning away dozens of people at the door. If you don't want to be disappointed, book a table and...
Read moreThis is a lovely family run restaurant serving very tasty Korean food. The waiter and his family moved to France 6 years ago I believe, and are cooking as they would do back in their native country, and they certainly know how to do that!
We had some prawns with mustard to start (packs a punch, like a wasabi or horseradish effect) as well as crispy dumplings, then Gogi and Ssam (one with beef, one with pork) that was a mixed platter of rice cakes and a deep mushroom broth, and then various pickles, onions, rice, grilled nutty meat and salad leaves. Stuff them into the salad leaves like a kind of Asian taco and gobble it down. Absolutely delicious!
There is only one waiter but the room is small and he was exceptionally helpful and kind, and service was super fast (maybe even a little too fast :)
Dinner cost us 58 euros for two people with two small beers which felt like good value for the quality of the food and the obvious love that went into cooking it.
Only downside was no outdoor seating on a very warm...
