La Huche à Pain — Restaurant in Vannes

Underwhelming. One star for great staff, quick service and hot food. One star for very good salmon and spinach slice/ open face sandwich. Salmon and spinach tart lacked seasoning and flavour, texture was a bit off. Not good at all for €4.60 or so. Very very busy at midday lunch service. No seating space. Kouignaman greasy and just not true to the authentic - but I think its like that the further you buy from the seaside. Brownie sweet and fudgy to look at no chocolate taste at all. Won't go back. Also felt sick...

Fast, furious and flourery! The latter is not a word but should be. Had to restrain myself not to say “I’ll have one of each please” instead I tried one baguette, two breads and two different types of brioche, much to the amusement of the staff.

I did not get any of the little cakes, brettonny foily cakes and other things with the amount of sugar you should eat in a month in one serving.

The place was busy but the queu was manageable, as was the price. Can’t wait to go back and try everything...

During our camper-van road-trip in Bretagne, we stopped by the charming city of Vannes. During our afternoon walk we wanted to have a quick goûter and we stopped by this boulangerie.
