I had been eager to try this restaurant, as we’re staying nearby for three weeks. When the server first approached me, I responded in English and mentioned I was a party of one. He immediately told me they might not have space for me. However, he went on to welcome other parties — who had joined the line after me — in French, without mentioning any lack of space to them.
After waiting over 30 minutes in line, I was finally next. Several tables opened up at once. When the server came to seat me inside, I politely asked if I could sit at the only available outdoor table. He told me that table was for two girls who had arrived about five minutes earlier, even though they were three parties behind me in line — and no, they did not have a reservation.
I would have expected the staff to prioritize those who had been waiting the longest and next in line. The final straw was that they seated everyone all at once — and every other table was attended to before mine.
Honestly, it felt like I was treated differently simply because I was a stranger and didn’t speak French.
At that point, I no longer felt that this establishment deserved my business, and I left immediately. I won’t be returning, and I strongly encourage fellow travelers to...
Read moreBeen in France on holiday for 3 weeks but as an Asian from Amsterdam, I just had massive ramen cravings all day! They were very very satisfied with a delicious bowl of ramen at Ryoko. We had the original chicken and spicy pork. Both were good but I like the strong taste of pork better! And broth was warm enough luckily and the spice was spicy!!! What a great kick. Better ramen than I had in Paris at a popular ramen place. Also the Okonomiyaki was super good!
Edit: it was so good we came back for lunch today. 😁 We had the veggie and pork broth. Tom Kha flavor was super good and the marinated tofu was bomb. Also the salad was super good! And not forget: one of the best...
Read moreWe've been eating there 3 times in a month. I chose twice the intense pork broth, and once the maritime. Both types are very good although my favorite is the original pork ramen. Service is very friendly and non pretentious. The restaurant is small, but cleverly arranged, with very few tables, and a long bar, that can sit 20 people at full capacity. The restaurant is probably 30 sqm including the kitchen. No reservations, just come up and wait in line. We had as well deserts, inbthenform of some kind of maca cheese cake with lime taste, very delicate and light. We would not have driven from pondi 3 times if it wasn't...
