I have to say I was quite surprised when reading other guests’ comments mentioning that the rooms were spacious enough. In our case, it really felt like we had the smallest room in the hotel. To give an idea, when sitting in the bathroom, there was barely enough space between your knees and the door once it was closed.|The hotel is very well positioned, just a few minutes’ walk from the historical centre of Vannes, which made it easy to explore everything on foot. The room was clean, which is always appreciated.|I was surprised there was no air conditioning, a fan was provided, but during this extremely hot weather it’s simply not enough. Also, there were no small amenities like a kettle with tea and instant coffee, or a coffee machine, which most hotels now offer.|The soundproofing was also minimal. Starting early in the morning, we could clearly hear the cleaning staff, other guests, and doors shutting loudly, which made it difficult to sleep in…especially on a weekend getaway when you want to rest.|Overall, it’s a very basic hotel that works for a short stay if location is your top priority, but it lacks comfort features we’ve...
Read moreThis hotel is just a few minutes away from Gare de Vannes SNCF train station and a 15 minutes walk from the old town. That’s the best thing about this establishment. My room was so small with a tiny bathroom. There was no mini bar nor any kettle with tea/ coffee facilities in the room. No AC in the room so good luck to you in the summer time. My window so wide open because it was a bit warm here. The most important the Wi-Fi in the room was only available for a few hours first day, second day no hotel Wi-Fi available, so if you need to work, you have to find other place. The walls are so thin that you can hear everything from other rooms. There is no safe box and lack of any acknowledgment from the management in the room. You will find usually a welcome leaflet or booklet with all infos in any standard hotel/ apartment room. But not here. I felt like I am not very welcome here :-( |And a room is not cheap. Please find better place to stay in this pretty town! Not...
Read moreWe booked this hotel as part of a package deal with Brittany Ferries and as usual we were not disappointed.||To be clear, this is not a Five Star hotel, it makes no pretensions to be, but what you do get is a clean and well presented hotel with good sized rooms and absolutely first class staff.||We were looked after by two girls on reception (disappointed with myself that I didn't remember their names), they could not have been any more friendly and helpful, both spoke excellent English and quickly jumped in when it became that my French speaking efforts quickly dissolve after the initial greetings and basic pleasantries.||We both appreciated the fact that they were only to willing to help us ignorant Brits feed their tea addiction by making us cuppas.||The car park at the hotel is very small, probably only space for about 5-6 cars, so would recommend you phone in advance to reserve a spot.||The heart of Vannes is a gentle 10...
