We went to have a dinner at a quiet place near Batumi Arena. Our order included khinkali, khachapuri imeruli, eggplant rolls with walnuts, and beer.
We waited for our food for about 40 minutes to an hour, but that's a normal waiting time here. First went eggplant rolls, in which eggplants were spoiled. We told that to the waiter and he took the dish away. In a few minutes a woman ( no idea if it was administrator or a cook, she didn't introduce herself) came out with the dish and asked us what's wrong with it. We explained that it tasted bad, sour with alcoholic under taste, like a spoilt eggplant. She insisted that they fry fresh eggplant every morning and this is just "vinegar" in the recipe, but eventually she took the dish away. The khinkali were good. The khachapuri was very tasty as well. But we found a piece of plastic in one of the last pieces of it. Probably a part of the cheese packaging.
After we finished, the waiter came out with another plate with freshly fried eggplants with nuts. These were warm and pretty tasty, not like the first ones.
We paid for everything and left with an uneasy feeling about this place. The prices are reasonable and waiters were quiet and polite. We hope the kitchen staff will take a better care of the food they serve, and the attitude they give their customers.
P.s. attaching the pictures of the bad eggplants before we tried them, and the...
Read moreI recently visited this restaurant, and overall, I would say the experience was mixed but not terrible. The total was not bad, and for the portion sizes, it seemed reasonably priced.
However, communication was a challenge right from the start. The person who took our order did not speak English well, so it was difficult to ask questions or get clear explanations about the dishes. This made the ordering process a bit frustrating, especially for someone who is unfamiliar with the menu.
Once we finally placed our order, the waiting time for the food felt longer than expected. It wasn’t extremely busy, but we still had to wait quite a while before the dishes arrived. That being said, when the food came, it was prepared well and tasted good — not the best I’ve ever had, but certainly not bad.
The biggest issue came at the very end. After finishing our meal, we waited around 20 minutes just to get the bill. This delay was unnecessary and left a negative final impression. By the time we paid, it felt like we had been there much longer than we intended.
Overall, I would describe this restaurant as having decent food and fair prices, but with slow service and communication challenges. If you are patient and don’t mind a bit of a wait, it could still be worth a visit. However, for those who value quick, efficient service and clear communication, there may be better...
Read moreMaybe we just ordered the wrong food. But most of the food was not tasty…
FYI: Kuchmachi by megreliam (hot): not hot at all… the dish was with liver, kidneys, spleen, and lungs (I guess?! Or maybe just liver?) mushrooms salat with cheese: far too much sauce! beef stroganoff: no fries (as on the photo…), only beef with mushrooms, a creamy sauce a cheese… khinkali: really yummy! home wine: highly recommended, it was delicious!
So compared to the other reviews, maybe our choices weren’t...
