TL:DR - Don’t go!! There are many better places around.
I very rarely leave a bad review. But this was one of the rare occasions when it was so bad that it deserves the effort.
We went to Okros with high hopes. All we wanted was to try some wines. I had read several bad reviews of the horrible service, but could it really be that bad?
The only greeting we got was a short - No card, only cash - with a semi-aggressive tone and a sour looking face.
Okay, off to a bad start but could be overlooked. We then proceeded to wait for a very long time before getting a menu. Mind you, there was only one couple there drinking wine, and three young guys waiting for their order.
We got no explanation of the wines or of the venue but decided to go for two whites. The prices are about double that of nearby restaurants and the most expensive we have seen so far in Georgia.
Unfortunately, none came to take our order. Also the three guys waiting for their order were just left there sitting. They didn’t look too happy either.
After spending close to 45 minutes without any sign of life, we left. I guess they have better things to do than tend their guests.
Don’t go here! There are much better places around with nice, warm and friendly customer service Georgia...
Read moreI think this must be the best restaurant in Sighnaghi. We came here twice, first mainly to try to taste some good Georgian wine, and then we came back because we left very happy with all the food we tasted.
The place is great, with a very nice view of the town, the staff is very nice and are able to provide recommendations when needed. But the best needs to be the food. We tried several different dishes and were happy with every single one.
Very fair prices, I would even say it’s cheap for what you get considering you don’t get to eat with such a nice view in many places, especially in Sighnaghi.
We found it weird that the place was not full because it seemed like the most obvious place to have a memorable meal in this very special town.
We hope...
Read moreThe terrace seating was outstanding, you can see almost the majority of the city from the top.
The waiters don't speak English, but one of the owners does. They take (HUGE) pride of their locally made wine, to the extent you feel there are no humbleness when they talk about it and sometimes they exaggerate about how much their bottle of wine is being sold elsewhere.
The food was tasty and delicious, my partner loved the beans in the clay pot, whereas I ordered their famous bread Khachapuri and it was tasty, but it was also soft, maybe that's their own special recipe of making it in this restaurant. The prices aren't cheap overall, but nevertheless the prices aren't exaggerated and I would say still affordable.
9/10 for the food, and 10/10 for...
