Restaurant zur Nürburg — Restaurant in Adenau

My son and I went to this restaurant for a quick bite while we were waiting for the Nürburgring race track to open. We had a hamburger (jumbo hamburger?) that was delicious and really was jumbo size; we were not able to eat even half of that. The restaurant owner was very friendly, he stopped by our table and took us to a tour of the restaurant specifically, the balcony seating behind the restaurant which is overlooking a spectacular mountainous view of border of Germany and Belgium. Four years ago in off-season. As travellers we found our table was ignored while locals were met with much friendlier and attentive service. The food was good, but the attitude was not. Waited forever for our bill. Oddly we did not have the same issues anywhere in Switzerland or Italy. Maybe it's because people bothered to discover where we were from and that we were friendly and excited to be there. Maybe it was an off night. Wir hatten von einem Cafe Restaurant durchaus mehr erwartet als heißer Apfelstrudel und 2 weitere Gerichte, die als Nachtisch auf der Karte zu finden sind.

Bestellt haben wir somit einen Pott Milchkaffee und eine Latte Macchiato, ein Wasser und 2 Apfelstrudel mit Vanille Eis und Sahne. Die eine abbestellte Sahne wurde trotzdem geliefert - aufmerksam geht anders.

Nun zur Qualität der Getränke und Speisen.

Die beiden Heißgetränke waren gut.

Der Apfelstrudel war ein Fertigprodukt von allenfalls mittlerer Qualität (das gibt es VIEL besser als Convenience und es war ganz weit weg von selbst gemacht bzw. lecker!!!), das Eis von der sehr günstigen Art (selbst Langnese wäre besser gewesen) und die Sahne, so schätze ich, aus der Sprühdose. Das Ganze für 8,50€. Wareneinsatz maximal (!!!) 2€. Absolut nicht zu empfehlen.

Die Gerichte nebenan, Schnitzel mit Pommes, waren sehr interessant - die Fleischstücke sahen auf den unterschiedlichen Tellern sehr identisch aus, die Vermutung geht hier ganz stark in Richtung Fertigprodukte.

In Summe:

Tolle Aussicht, Innenräume sehr gemütlich, Möbel auf der Außenterrasse okay (teilweise schon defekt), schön mit Pergola.

Essen: Für uns gar nicht empfehlenswert.

Bedienung: Maximal in Ordnung, trotz Notiz über die nicht gewünschte Sahne hat der eine Sonderwunsch schon nicht geklappt.

Kaffee: Gut.

Eventuell heute an Samstag eine Momentaufnahme, wie kommen trotzdem garantiert...
