MAULAFF — Restaurant in Aschaffenburg

Maulaff is a traditional German Brew Pub named after a wood statue carved in 1788.

The statue has a big open mouth and men would throw balls into it and wait for the ball to roll out from the backside lol.

I love Maulaff because their limited micro-brews are delicious.

Even more than the beer Maulaff has the largest selection of flammkuchen for miles around.

Flammkuchen is tarte flambe and not pizza - and is soul satisfying.

Maulaff also has chess sets and clocks set up if you enjoy chess.

Eine Gaststätte wie ich sie noch nicht gesehen habe. Die Gaststätte befindet sich in einem alten aber restaurierten Wohnhaus in dessen alten Wohnzimmer. Es gibt nicht viele Plätze im Gastraum und dieser sieht, sicher mit Absicht, etwas gestückelt aus. Für Leute mit Platzangst wäre die kein Ort. Die macht aber den Charakter der Gaststätte aus. Die Küche scheint sich im Obergeschoss zu befinden das Essen kommt über einen Essens-Fahrstuhl runter. Die Preise sind für Aschaffenburg (da ist alles etwas teurer als bei uns) im oberen Mittelfeld und das Essen bekommt eine knappe 4v5 wie auch...

The food was amazing, the flammkuchen was super tasty and their beer is unforgettable. I really recommend.
