Always friendly staff and satisfied and relaxed clientel. The food is highly recommendable. They have some super quality surprises in beer.

We organised an Irish Evening there this week. It was a total success. A great band came along "Attila and friends" and they warmed the place up without annoying any neighbours. The place is stuck in a quiet residential area. We also got many people on their feet to experience lively dancing, "Irish Set Dance - Augsburg Steppach". The publican, Andreas, was continually helpful to everyone, even days before. He left no wishes unanswered ..... amazing. The tallented cook worked like a race horse to give a fantastic and thoroughly tasty, authentic and memorable Irish Menu.

One of the best evenings I've had in Augsburg. He does this sort of thing a few times in the year. When not, it's a easy going and familiar place to relax. No street noise and the pavement terrace is big and you don't wait at all. The friendly service comes promptly.

No fuss. It's contagious.

A Mouth-Watering Bavarian Gem in a Quiet Augsburg Neighborhood

We stumbled upon Wirtshaus Frau Huber while exploring Augsburg, and it turned out to be one of the most satisfying meals of our trip.

The restaurant is located in a peaceful, residential area — very quiet and far from the typical tourist spots. We sat outside but I also had a look inside, which was just as cozy and welcoming with a charming Bavarian atmosphere.

Apfelküchle – warm apple fritters that were the perfect sweet finish

The service was genuinely friendly and warm. While the staff didn’t speak English and the menu was only in German, they really tried to understand our preferences and helped us pick out dishes we’d enjoy. Their effort and hospitality made the experience feel even more authentic and personal.

Sehr schade. Ich wollte heute mit meiner Frau die so gelobten Schnitzel probieren, weshalb wir auch einen Tisch reserviert hatten. Nachdem wir nach 30 Minuten noch kein Essen hatten, fragten wir nach, ob die Bestellung vergessen wurde. Nachdem wir nach gut 50 Minuten noch kein Essen hatten, baten wir, die Bestellung zu stornieren und wollten gehen.

Daraufhin kam der Wirt und erklärte uns, dass das Restaurant voll war und die Zubereitung daher dauerte. Auf meinen Hinweis, dass man zumindest hätte mitteilen können, wenn die Bestellung länger dauere, entgegnete er, wir könnten ja sehen, dass das Lokal voll war. Wenn wir schnell essen wollten sollten wir das nächste Mal doch bitte zu McDonalds gehen.

In der Tat war das Restaurant als wir ankamen auch voll, allerdings wurden in den 50 Minuten nur 2 Hauptgerichte serviert. Die meisten Tische waren schon bei den Getränken, die fleißig serviert wurden. Jedoch wurden während wir warteten hingegen 2 telefonische Bestellungen vorrangig abgearbeitet.

Leider war das ein sehr unschönes Erlebnis, an dem nicht die Wartezeit, sondern die Einstellung und Kommunikation des Wirtes das Bedauerliche ist. Das Lokal ist gut besucht, offensichtlich mit vielen Stammgästen. Darum scheint man es nicht nötig zu haben, neue Kunden zu gewinnen oder gar mit Anregungen konstruktiv umzugehen. Glücklicherweise gibt es in Augsburg mehrere Filialen von McDonalds und sogar noch das ein oder andere...
