Cozy big restaurant and reminds me of a huge canteen back in college. There are alcohol shop just beside the restaurant which sells their signature beer, it is highly recommended as you can get cheaper price than grocery stores. For the restaurant, I have ordered Pork knuckle as my main dish. First of all, the Pork knuckle is HUGE!! If you are an Asian like me, I can safety say this knuckle is 2-man worthy. Not just that, it cost less than 20 euro and taste very very good, talk about getting your money worth. I had 2 deserts, which is the apple strudel and the German “schoko-soufflé “. The soufflé is out of the world, the melting chocolate inside is firm and rich, which goes perfectly with the vanilla ice cream, this is a hidden gem in my opinion, if you are reading this, please order this. Read moreWe were a group of 9 and they were able to easily accommodate us. If you're American and this is your first time in Europe, there are going to be a few things you're not used to but that are perfectly normal. Service is great but don't expect them to check on you every 5 minutes like they do in the U.S.. Staying 3+ hours is normal and you shouldn't feel rushed to get through your meal. The exact opposite is true, you're pretty much expected to relax, enjoy your food and beer and take your time. Eat slow and don't get stuffed too quickly because the portions are big!
Speaking of beer, it's amazing! Quality, delicious, cold beer. Expect nothing less.
This place is also kid friendly and they have food that I think most kids would like. We had 4 kids with us and they all...

We ordered the Schweinhaxe but they had run out of this popular dish..no worries, we ordered the special, goose with chestnuts, which I wish I hadn’t. The goose was extremely hard to chew and overcooked. The chestnuts were also quite dry. I also tasted a “grit” in my red cabbage. I would actually still recommend this place as I believe they just had a bad day with this particular dish. The apple strudel...
