Terrible service! We waited 40 minutes for some artificial 'nachos' with guacamole dip. They were basically Doritos out of a plastic bag. Before even having time to finish the nachos, the very unfriendly waiter brought our main course, almost throwing my plate on the table in front of me and not even having the decency to apologize for the eternal wait, not even a 'Guten Appetit'. The salmon was OK but the burnt grilled vegetables were tasteless! In the end, we also had to ask for the bill a couple of times which took about 20 minutes and the unfriendly waiter did not even say thank you or bye, just walked away after we paid. My mom used to love going there. Now that she is in a wheelchair we tried taking her there and low and behold, once we made it up the two stairs to get into the place, the waitress looked at us and said, we cannot seat you with a wheelchair. Das Green Island vermittelt einen schönen Flair und ein angenehmes Ambiente. Das Restaurant und zugleich nette Bierkneipe erweckt den Eindruck eines Irish Pub. Auch wenn er nur so ähnlich heißt. An sich ist es ein ungemütlicher Irish Pub, wie man sie kennt und liebt. Das Abendessen war sehr gut und reichlich! Die heutzutage aufgerufenen Preise von 14 € für das Essen pro Person muss man hinnehmen; man erhält geschmacklich ein sehr fein zubereitetes Mahl, das allen Wünschen entspricht. Ein frischer knackiger Salat und ein ordentliches Stück Fleisch. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Leider ist das Restaurant keineswegs barrierefrei. Wenn man draußen sitzen kann, wie z. Zt. in den warmen Monaten, merkt davon allerdings etwas, wenn er mobilitätseingeschränkte Person ins Lokal zur Toilette gehen muss Mehrere Stufen hindern am ungestörten Zugang ins Innere des Lokals. Dann muss man noch eine lange steile Treppe hinabsteigen, um endlich zur Toilette zu gelangen. An sich ein Unding! Es ist eben ein schöner Altbau, halt ganz und gar nicht barrierefrei. Ansonsten kann man den Besuch hier sehr als empfehlenswert bezeichnen. Mal abwarten, wie lange sich der Bürger die Preise leisten kann und will.
