Akropolis Athen — Restaurant in Bad Orb

We visited this Greek restaurant without a reservation, but they kindly accommodated us, which was a great start. The food was excellent, especially the grilled dishes—flavorful and perfectly prepared.

However, the dessert (Galaktoburiko) was disappointing. The top layer of phyllo pastry was extremely hard, almost like reinforced cardboard. I even asked for a knife, but cutting it without completely crushing the dessert was nearly impossible.

Another downside is that they only accept cash payments, so make sure to have cash on hand.

Although we didn't have a reservation, we got a cozy table. The waiter was very attentive. For example, as soon as I put my knife and fork down when I was full, he approached the table to take the plates and ask if everything was okay. The food itself exceeded my hopes. I didn't even know that squid can be so tender. Also the rest of the food was top-notch. The interior was cozy and decorated with Greek pillars. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and friendly staff. The tzatziki was outstanding and I it was large enough that I could only eat 1/2 of my ordered food. The oven baked gyros with cheese on top was thickly sliced and was very filling. The other mixed plate we ordered was also very good. Drinks came quickly after ordering and we received ouzo just before we left! If I lived in this area, I would probably have this as one of my preferred restaurants.
