This out of the way restaurant in a small town in Bavaria really surprised us. We have been traveling in Bavaria for 3 weeks and are very weary of the very limited pork based menus we are finding in most restaurants. We love pork, and the pork has been good but we are over it. I MISS BEEF!!! Google map search showed B306 when I searched for steak. We were greeted by the owner and told that all of the tables were reserved, but if we could eat and be finished within 2 hours he could seat us. No worries, as we had to catch the last train out of Bad Reichenhall in 2-1/2 hours.
After reading the menu, we really wish we had found this restaurant earlier in our stay. We would have dined there every night!
Once again the owner came over to show us the special of the evening and to explain the menu (he did this at every table). He is a fellow beef lover and his passion for his meat sourcing, and his passion for his restaurant shows. Last night's special was a trip of steaks from around the globe. Canadian bison (amazing, ordered rare and it was so tender and flavorful), along with sugar beet fed Italian beef and USA beef) The house specialty is flat iron steak which is one of my fav cuts. The 2 of us would up ordering the trio of steaks (300 grams each and served on a heated tray) as well as a 300 gram flat iron steak. We figured we would have leftovers.
Each and every steak was delicious. Husband ate his one at a time. I ate a bit of each steak until all were gone. We both ranked the Canadian bison as #1 and the flat iron as #2.
As for sides, the trio came with two and we got the coleslaw and green beans with bacon. We also ordered the steakhouse beans. All of the sides were excellent and nice portion sizes. As a native of the deep south who has lived in Texas, I can say the steakhouse beans are even better than what we get in the south!
The service team was excellent. They were ALL polite, friendly and professional and they hustled.
As someone who grew up in a family that owned restaurants I know what it takes to achieve what this young man has done at B306. I wish him every success, and predict success will be his.

Read moreservice was great and atmosphere was great! mostly disappointed because I was talked out of ordering the rinderfillet by the server which is normally what I would get at a steak restaurant because it's easier to eat and taste generally better. they really pushed the "top seller" which is just the cheapest cut of meat. it seemed quite wierd considering the price was actually much less then the filet. the server claimed that the top seller was just as tender and juicey as the filet but if their filet is that chewy then I'll pass on the entire restaurant in the future. the "top seller" was pushed by the person who sat us and the server and I wish I would have not caved in on what I knew I liked. the creme Brulee was served on a neat cotton candy platter that I very much so enjoyed the uniqueness but the creme brulee was lacking in sweetness, I feel like that's more normal in germany so no actual complaint there just wouldn't get it again. I got the vibe that they thought "Americans will eat whatever steak" because everyone else got a nice introduction on the steak choices and we just got pushed on the cheapest cut option being the best and equivalent to all others because they legitimately said it was just as good as the other cuts.

We came here without expectations and was blown away at how delicious the food was. We're not even from the area and we're here for a 7-day holiday. Definitely, at least 2 evenings of that would be here.

We were recommended the grilled mushrooms - I think it was seasonal side dished. It was absolutely good. I didn't even know that you can make mushroom taste that good.
I had the chili con carne - which was seriously really good quality. They know how to make chili.
The whole staff was friendly and they really know their stuff. They recommended the grilled mushrooms to us so we fortunately gave it a shot.
Toilets are available. Outdoor and indoor seating. I'd recommend to book as it can get busy. and I'm not surprosed because of how good the food is.
Philip / Filip was super friendly too. He gave us a good background of how things worked, what was the best and recommendations of the day.
