We've stayed for few hours on the 01.01. The night before I called in, but it was fully booked, so we opt for the next day. Tbh I had no idea what to expect, but the offers for Karaoke in Berlin is really quite scarce since COVID made the big places close, so we made our way to King Karaoke, mainly because of private rooms and we were a small group. Prior I called them with asking if we can drop by as soon as opening, but they recommended to us to come one hour later because of last nights party cleanups(which was understandable given it was New Years).
Communication was never rude, even during our stay, ALL staff was very friendly and helpful! We also got checked for our vaccination status, but maybe that could possibly slip if its packed and I can just talk about my experience during the first hours after opening time and not late in the night.
The machine was explained to us(which is run by a computer and program, not a oldschool Karaoke-machine) and its super easy. I also don't understand the negative reviews talking about the lack of songs or "only youtube". There is a program which is loaded with songs from several genres and languages - you can always switch to youtube if there are song you lack but overall theres so much to choose from? Since we split bill, we kept track of the drinks ourselves. Drinks are - yes - expensive, but as a Karaoke veteran I'd say: they are NORMAL since they are the main source of revenue in such establishments and the room costs are super cheap. I can't elaborate on drinks, since I didn't drink alcohol.
I drop the score mainly because of the fitments/facilities. The Karaoke equipment was quite worn out, especially I want to point out, the small room has only one mic with a cable, which a few time had a dodgy contact - the door was not closable either(and we didnt use force to try and close it). The other rooms doors were all closing tho. The rest of the building is what you expect from a used "nightlife Berlin" bar kinda thing.
Apart from the minor issues we enjoyed ourselves A LOT. Time flies by very quickly. I liked the vibes and its truely a place where the multicultural aspect of Berlin shines and is lived. If you want a finicky clean/perfect experience, this isn't the place you should pick. But for casual non-judgmental Karaoke and a fun night I would definately say go for it.
Another note: Please be aware that smoking is allowed, even in private rooms(so if you come after another group, you might have problem with that as a non-smoker)! If your troubled by this, come in as early...
Read moreA friend of mine invited me to a large private karaoke party they were hosting. They had already told me they’d checked out the place with a smaller group before, despite reading bad reviews, and decided to go ahead because they liked the cabin, the sound, and the song selection. But from the moment we arrived, I could see things weren’t going smoothly.
The waitstaff kept coming in and out of the room, often interrupting us. They insisted on keeping an open tab for the entire group instead of letting us pay for drinks as we ordered. I noticed they were bringing far more drinks than anyone had asked for—at one point, 12 gin and tonics were brought in when only 2 had been ordered. When someone pointed it out to the waitress, she just shrugged and said something like, “That’s been ordered, end of discussion.” Meanwhile, one of the guests waited over 40 minutes for a Moscow Mule and had to reorder it multiple times, but it never arrived.
By the end of the night, they told us we owed €300 more than we had expected. It was clear that their “one bill for everyone” system was being used to overcharge us. I know my friend’s group well, and I can confidently say no one would leave without paying for what they had consumed. It was frustrating to see such blatant dishonesty, especially when the party could have been a lot of fun.
What really ruined the night was when the staff interrupted us to say that the bill was short by €700 and insisted we settle it immediately, even though there were still people in the room. It was an awful experience, and my friend told me afterward that they would never return to this place. I don’t blame them—they usually go to Monster Karaoke, where things are fair, and the staff treats everyone with respect.
Honestly, I’d advise anyone against going to this place with a large group—it’s a recipe for frustration and a...
Read moreI needed a big place to organise a big private karaoke party .We read the horrible reviews and went to check it for ourselves first (just 8 of us). The service was always rushing into the room and rough, but we were liking the cabin, the sound and choice of songs, so we decided to go a second time with 30 people. TOTAL MISTAKE: we were not allowed to pay directly with the waitresses at the moment of being served. They insisted on an open bill for everybody and in the end every person would pay their part. They kept on bringing more drinks than we ordered (12 gin and tonics at once, when we ordered just 2... when we spotted that to the waitress, she ignored us and say: "that'sbeen ordered, punkt!) and left them on the tables. At the same time, I was waiting over 40 minutes for a Moscow Mule that I have to reorder three times (probably put them twice in the system but never arrived). We paid 300€ extra... the system that they have of one bill only is the perfect way of overcharging customers. I know my guests, and we would never leave a place without paying. It is a real pity because I am going to the karaoke every month and could have become a regular customer there. But I will keep giving my money to Monster Karaoke, where we always get treated with respect, and no one tries to steal our money. My advice: DON'T EVEN THINK TO GO THERE IN A BIG GROUP or your night will be ruined when they come to you and tell you in the middle of your party that you are 10 people left and still have to pay 700 euros....
