Everything good so far, till the bill came. It was late around 11.00 pm. The german table neighbours did pay with the credit card. When it came to me, the POS was rejecting all my cards. The bill was 119 euro. I gave 4 credits cards from different banks and different european countrys. All the same rejected. I was very upset about this happening because i know exactly that all the cards where with much more money on them. THE OWNER OF THE RESTAURANT CAME TO ME AND HE TOLD ME TO GO AND BRING CASH FROM THE ATM. AND HE WAS TELLING ME THAT ALL MY CARD ARE USELESS JUST BECAUSE THE POS TERMINAL WAS WORKING ON THE OTHER FAMILY. BECAUSE IT WAS WORKING TO THEM THIS MEANS THAT MY CARD ARE NOT VALID!. it was the most embarrassing situation i was facing in my life. He was telling me that he will call the police. When i agreed with this, he changed his mind and he told me to leave without to pay. This cannot be happen as long i was enjoying the food an drink. Finally i found some cash from my friends and i leaved the restaurant paying cash. I went in the first gas station to buy water and an ice cream. I payed with the same credit card. Guess what happens? Of course it works and i have the copy of all this bills. I was never thinking that in such a nice area of Berlin, with such a healthy people, an Italian owner that claims to be there since 1985 or something, it can treat foreigners customer like this. FINANZAMT, do you hear this? i pay taxes in my country and we have by law POS terminals everywhere. I could not believe that in the middle of Berlin, i have to pay cash without having any invoice to be deducted from the...

This restaurant maybe situated in deep Grunewald well known for it's well heeled clientele with deep pockets, our experience was more of some unwary first timers in some touristy hotspots.
We entrusted the restaurant to serve a mixed antipasti from the counter for sharing and it turned out to be a meager portion of quarted up mozzarella pieces and few dainty slices of vitello tonato. The additional orders of equally dainty portions of antipasti were charged at equally eye poping prices.
Admittedly, 2021 was a bad year for white alba truffles. Of the very low yield, poor quality and high prices, we have already been warned.
Indeed, ours did turn out to be rather bland and had only a faint aroma. Served on over-cooked, lumpy pasta in a heap really did not help either. One returned plate was replaced with pasta with fresh artichokes but charged at the same price as the pasta with truffles.
But when a weighed out 34 grams of truffles, for 10 people sharing, turned into 35 grams on the bill at a price tag of €12 per gram (which btw was €10 two days earlier); and a supposedly offered grapa on the house turned up at €9, one wonders when this game would ever stop.
Was it overly underwhelming or were we overly expecting?
