I recently went to Mido and had a somewhat mixed experience. The food was actually really fresh and delicious, which was a pleasant surprise. I enjoyed the variety of dishes on the menu and appreciated the effort that went into making everything taste so good.
Unfortunately, the service was pretty terrible. The staff seemed completely disinterested in making us feel welcome or providing a good experience. They were rude and unaccommodating, which made us feel pretty uncomfortable.
To make matters worse, the restaurant was extremely cramped, with tables placed too close together. It was hard to enjoy our meal in such a tight space.
And on top of everything, we had made a reservation ahead of time, but when we got there, they told us that they weren't honoring our reservation. It was a frustrating experience that left us feeling pretty disappointed.
Overall, I would rate my experience at Mido a 3/5. While the food was enjoyable, the poor service, cramped space, and failure to honor our reservation detracted significantly from the overall experience. Unless there are significant changes in the service and atmosphere of the restaurant, I would...
Read moreAfter we ordered, 5 tables (2 groups of four people and 3 couples) got their food before we did, and they had more complicated (or at least they looked more complicated) orders than we had(menu 10) and one couple had exactly what we had, but they waited maybe 25 minutes or so. After an hour of waiting we asked waiter if our food is coming soon, and he said "yeah". So, 1 hour and 20 minutes later after ordering, our menu #10 finally came. Nigirizushi was falling apart, makizushi was unwrapping, and california rolls looked really sad and quickly made. Taste was average and not worth the price. We also had some riesling, but that was ok. Afterwards, the waiter asked if everyrhing was ok, and my partner said we waited for 1 hour and 20 minutes, he looked like he was shocked and we didn't even get an apology. Overall, a bad experience. I wouldn't usually write a bad review even if the food was bad, but the lack of (at least) an apology and unprofessional service made me do it. Sorry to say but this was one of the worst sushi...
Read moreMy first time in Mido was a spontaneous lunch alone which left a very good impression to me. I had their grilled Salmon. The portion was large considering the price, and I was kinda half expecting to receive smaller portions for lunchtime. The fish was just soft and juicy, garnished with lettuce, and the veggies were crisp. The place was almost packed and it took really a while to receive my order. Nonetheless, service was okay.
I loved my first visit that is why I brought friends the next time. Food was again superb. This time I had In-and-Out Sushi which was really fresh and nicely rolled. My friends loved their dishes too.
With wood as the main material used for the decorations, round lighting ornaments and a cherry tree and its flowers decorating a waterfall, the ambiance is very, yes, oriental. Yes, because it is an asian restaurant, of course. But others don’t bother so much and the place looks really small and unpretentious from outside. I would definitely be back and try some more of...
