I come here often thanks to convenience. I promised to leave a review and since people are being pretty tough with 1 star reviews it’s important to give some context. 1. The staff are universally friendly and always have a chat. It seems like a new team this year and they speak a lot of English and Deutsch. Nice to see a more diverse team. They’re trying hard. 2. The beer is fresh. It’s not my favourite Helles, very herb so go for the Weizen if you like a smoother taste. The other drinks are average. Aperol Spritz often flat and Weißwein Schorle is white wine from the economy 1l bottles. 3. The food looks better than it used to. Although it’s not going to be a meal you remember. 4. Dogs are welcome. Bonus. There’s always water for dogs. I love this. 5. The crowd is cool. Diverse. International and local alike. Young, middle aged, old, families, singles, couples etc. 6. Location is good. Between Südkreuz and the Rote Insel. 7. A few negatives: the glasses never feel properly clean. A few too many lip marks and greasy finger marks but hey, this is Berlin. 8. Get a few people in and the queue to get a drink can take a while. That’s often the fault of the person at the front of the queue rather than the serving staff. It continues to amaze me how Germans haven’t made their choices in the 10-15mins queuing and seem surprised when they get to the front and need to ask a raft of questions, purse their lips and hmm for a few minutes before buying one drink and not tipping. But hey ho, it’s Berlin. 9. It’s expensive. Really expensive for a dusty back yard serving beer and flat drinks in greasy glasses. See the picture of the drinks menu attached. It’s not table service so you’re doing the leg work but a decent bar charges similar. 10. It could be so much more. It lacks ambition and harks back to near enough is good enough. If the prices reflects this I wouldn’t note it quite so much but now they’re charging the prices they need to step up big time. I really hope this place survives, steps up and sorts itself out. A few changes and it could be a brilliant beer garden. It’s good right now but could be excellent.

We had an incredible time at NAUMANNS in Berlin. The cozy atmosphere made it perfect for sharing a fun evening with friends. The fondue options were delicious, with options for meat lovers or vegetarians, and with cheese or oil fondue. The staff was super friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. It’s such a great spot for a social and unique dining experience. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it!

Naumannküche is a hidden gem in the Rote Insel area. In summer you can enjoy various lunch dishes for a good price outside on benches in a beer garden atmosphere. In winter you can sit in a cozy conservatory. Main dishes change daily, every day offers include soups and salads. Some weekends the restaurant will have a live DJ outside and a barbecue. Dogs welcome!
