This is a very nice restaurant. It is located at walking distance from Rathaus Steglitz. I have had lunch and dinner at this place with my wife and the food has always been great here. Food portions are very good and would comfortably say big. We pretty much always ended up having some take away. Throughout the winter, seating was restricted to inside the restaurant. But as spring came up, outside seating was made possible. In fact, you will find most of them opting to sit out and enjoy the weather. The bar has fairly good collection. Service might seem to be a little slow, however, it cannot be considered as degraded service in any way. Food in general is tasty and filling, however, it might seem to be quite oily. Seating available is huge and can accommodate a lot of people. Romantic candle lit meals, with Indian music being played in the background adds to the ambience. I have always seen the place filled with crowd and wouldn't mind visiting it again. Apparently there are also some combos or business lunches available on weekdays. There are also some combo platters available for 2-4 or more persons, however, I have not tried this yet. There is also a selection of fruit kulfi in desserts, which is very nice. The endings are quite nice with some shots or juice or espresso at the end on the house and that definitely leaves a very good impression on the restaurant. All in all, you must...
Read moreFor the last 5 months we go past this ever busy restaurant but never set foot inside until today! We had a warm reception from the staff and the restaurant wasn't full at 1 pm (fortunately!) as we didn't have reservation. Complementary papads (3) with 3 different chutneys were enough to kick start our lunch. Chicken masala + garlic bread were ordered based on staff recommendation. Staff was humble enough to disclose most of the food are heavily localized for whatever reason. Back in India certain dishes are supposed to be staple food and they need to at least make them as delicious as possible (that's how we few gauge their food at first) n unfortunately there is no such rule here. Batura (whole) and rice came complementary which is usual but in some restaurants you get half Batura. Chicken masala itself was not delicious (but spicy as we had requested) in our taste buds. Chicken as usual like boiled and dipped in tomato + butter +curd sauce + tomatoes. They were not implicitly blend with the typical chicken masala flavors. Lunch was complete with an on the house mango shot (or liqueur or espresso). Jogi beer and mosquito mocktail were tasty. Worth a visit for the ambience and service. The restaurant is also unusually big and holds many corners which is definitely a plus. Our quest for authentic Indian restaurant...
Read moreThe restaurantvis located in the southern part of Berlin in an area called Rathaus Steglitz. Its easy to reach by car as well as public transport. The nearest metro station is U Rathaus Steglitz and the restaurant is 5 mintues walk (400m) from the metro station. The restaurant has big space and seating arrangements inside as well as outside. The atmosphere is pleasant and overall it looks clean and well maintained. Staffs are friendly and welcoming. The disappointing factor here is food. The food does not live up to the expectation. The dishes did not have any authenticity of indian cuisine. We ordered several items and each one them was just a superficial version of indian dishes. It was bland and one could not get the flavor of indian cuisine. The items served were kind of dry and did not go well with rice. The dessert they serve as part of their menu item, is more like a formality they have to fulfill. Overall not a very nice experience even if everything was nice except the food and since food is the central factor, it counts more than any other factor. Therefore, not recommended if you are looking for authentic...
